36A to 325 cc Natrelle! Rapid Recovery. 5’7” 150 lbs. Marathon runner

ORIGINAL POST

Why Did I Wait Ten Years?!

WORTH IT$9,500
I’ve thought about getting breast implants for at least ten years. I’ve never had boobs. I can blame that on genetics and also on my active lifestyle . Running has always been a part of my life- from soccer at age four to 37 and change running marathons and half marathons all over the USA. And then I took the plunge…. Honestly, I Google searched providers in Chicagoland and enter Dr.Kotis. I was annoyed at the $125 consultation fee (which would later be applied to the bill) because I didn’t even know if this was something I wanted or could realistically do. But after meeting with Dr.Kotis I knew I’d be in good hands and I was reassured I could get natural looking breasts that would fit my active lifestyle. The rapid recovery process is what sold me. Minimal bruising? No drains? No time off from work? And only a couple weeks off from running?! Ok. We can do this. The surgery went well. I was never nauseous. There was mild discomfort. I did have to brace myself before sitting up for a few days. But I drove myself to my post op appointment the following day. They don’t encourage this but I wasn’t on narcotics and honestly didn’t want to entertain anyone on the drive there. I bummed around for two days and then had a girls day on post op day three. And went back to my job as an RN on post op day four. I felt off those two days but I’m blaming that on my Flexeril “hangover.” (I was later prescribed Flexeril because of my muscular chest). By post op day five I was walking on the treadmill and felt like myself. I am loving my new look. I’ve been trying on shirts and sports bras. I’m happy to say all my Lululemon still fits! Thank God! I’m waiting to buy new everyday bras once the “dropping and fluffing” happens. I currently feel like an engorged new mom (I’m childless but an OB nurse so I totally get it). I’m excited to see the end result! And also can’t wait to get back to my active lifestyle. I’m glad I listened to Dr. Kotis and that we went with the bigger size…From barely filling a 36A to 325 cc Natrelle… I can’t say what size I am yet but I am so happy! Stay tuned!

We’re they able to re-pierce your nipples during the BA?

Yes! The nurse was very helpful and put the bars back in while I was still under anesthesia. I’ve only had them pierced for three months so she saved me a trip to the tattoo shop. Ha

What profile did you get? High, moderate?

Thank you so much for sharing!! I'm planning to get moderate profile, 190 cc. Now I have to pick a date, I want to get it done on February 6, but I am leaving the country for a two week trip on March 13. Do you think you would've been ready for a big trip five weeks after your surgery?

You’re welcome:) ooh! Excited for you! I think maybe it depends on the procedure the doc uses. Mine used a rapid recovery procedure ( no drains, no bruising, no bleeding) and I was back to work as a bedside nurse four days later. And ran a half marathon less than a month post op. I’m sure though regardless if it’s nothing too strenuous you’d be ok.

That’s amazing and my dream, I cannot handle sitting still, I can tell by reading your journey you’re the same way! How did you find a doctor that will go the rapid recovery route? I’m in Denver and none of the surgeons seem to offer that.

Yep! Gotta move! I think I just got lucky. I was looking at top rated surgeons in the area and then saw the rapid recovery and I was sold!
9 days post

8 days PO. Back to running… kinda. Almost..

I started power walking five days post op. And started lower body squats and lunges. I have to workout!! Eek. Everything felt fine. I wore two of my old unpadded, size medium sports bras. They are now nice and snug. It’s amazing how these things stretch! And also amazing how I no longer need a padded sports bra to make it look like I at least have a little something on my chest. And on day 8 I decided to try to run. Doc originally told me 7-10 days (I think to get me to sign…remember I had Rapid Recovery breast augmentation) and then later said wait till 2 week follow up. Well, I tried to run. I immediately felt mild soreness under my right boob so I went back to power walking. Whelp. I’ll give it more time. Although I have a half marathon in 17 days…Will be interesting to see how this pans out. At the very least I’ll power walk and strut my amazing boobs through the course;) #obsessed

Five mile run! 10 days post op!

So exciting!! After a couple prior attempts over the past few days I finally did it. Five miles and feeling alright. I did wear three bras- two snug sports bras over my post op surgery compression bra on the tightest settings. I’m not gonna lie. It felt… weird. But I pushed past the initial ten seconds where I originally gave up and did it! I felt mild soreness and I know I need to give it more time. But in the meantime I ordered some uber supportive sports bras from SheFit. Who am I? I could formally wear $15 flimsy Target bras. Here’s to getting back my running!

Wow, that is amazing you feel good enough to run so early.. what does the rapid recovery process entail?
March 6, 2022
Thanks! I NEED to run. The rapid recovery method is what sold me. It uses a special cauterizing technique to minimize bleeding. Why all surgeons don’t adopt this method is beyond me.

Oh interesting! I totally understand! I had to take 3+ weeks off running and it was tough! Hope your healing is still going well.
