I do not normally write reviews for anything, but...

I do not normally write reviews for anything, but I had trouble finding many reviews for tear trough fillers in the Nashville area so I hope this review helps someone! I got fillers about one week ago to help correct the bags under my eyes. I am 29 years old and the bags under my eyes have bothered me for my ENTIRE life. They are genetic. I have wanted tear trough fillers ever since I heard about them. Lori Lankford at Dr. Wendel's office injected two syringes of Voluma to help correct the appearance of my bags and did an excellent job. She has an artist's eye for where fillers should be placed and the appearance of my bags is extremely improved. I am very, very happy with my results.
As some background, about three months ago I got one syringe of Voluma in my upper cheeks to try and help the appearance of my undereye bags from a different provider (not Lori and not at Dr. Wendel's office). That did help (somewhat) but was not the result I was looking for, partly because my tear troughs are very pronounced. After that procedure, I consulted with 5-6 different doctors and nurses to try to find someone who understood the results I wanted, which was a stressful process for me. I was very worried about the risks of getting fillers in my tear troughs and wanted to talk about those risks at my consultations. Most of the doctors and nurses brushed my concerns aside. I also felt rushed or pressured at many of my consultations.
When I went to Dr. Wendel's office and met Lori, I immediately felt at ease. She talked to me candidly about my worries and did not act annoyed by my (many) questions. I did not feel pressured by her or like she was "selling me" anything. Lori took the time to really examine my face structure and make a recommendation (2 syringes of Voluma) based on my desired results.
On the day of my appointment, I was very nervous. I am extremely, unreasonably needle-phobic and can get very faint at the thought of needles. Lori used a cannula to inject the Voluma, partly for safety reasons. If you have ever had fillers with a cannula you know that it looks like the longest, scariest needle ever which (visibly) freaked me out. My mom came with me to the appointment and told me that she thought I was going to pass out. I tried to stay calm but I think it became pretty clear that I was panicking. The reason I am explaining all of this is because Lori did not make me feel bad AT ALL about the anxiety I was experiencing. She stayed calm and helped me relax so that we could move forward with the injections. She has a great bedside manner.
As far as the injections themselves, they felt a little weird or uncomfortable but not painful. The worst part was me visualizing what was happening to me, not the pain or discomfort of the procedure itself. Lori also injected a very small amount of Botox in one of my brows to help lift one of my eyelids that is a little droopier than the other eyelid. Afterwards, there was some pain and tenderness in the area where the fillers were injected, but I had no bruising where the cannula was inserted.
The injections were one week ago and I am extremely happy with the results. Lori truly has an artist's eye. My bags are VERY diminished and I feel so much better about my appearance. It is so amazing to look in the mirror and not see two giant bags under my eyes. I have read mixed reviews about using Voluma under the eyes but I think it looks great. It looks very natural and there is no Tyndall effect. I also like that the Voluma (hopefully) will last longer than other injectables. I will be returning for a follow-up appointment with Lori next week. My phone broke right before my appointment so I don't have a "before" picture to post right now, but I plan on getting a "before" picture from my husband's phone and posting before and after pictures.
