I have always carried my weight in my mid-section....

I have always carried my weight in my mid-section. As a runner and biker, I kept it at bay until I turned 55. Unfortunately, I experienced an illness that disabled me for 8 months, so the fat really piled on. Even after losing 20 pounds, my mid-section was fatty and I had an upper abdomen overhang (UGH). At 58, I had become that woman with the fat gut, big boobs, skinny hips and skinnier legs. Now that I am well and have begun to exercise again, I really wanted to do something for me. So, I began reading reviews and talked with friends and decided on Slim Lipo. I took a few days off over the holiday weekend to have the procedure as well as 5 days of recovery. YIKES! I think I will be okay to return to work in a couple of days, but don't fool yourself. This is definitely more painful and invasive than expected. Here are the before and 1st day afterward photos. Sedation was used due to having my lower back, abdomen, and flanks treated. The nurse anesthetist and I talked through my tendency to be nauseated and we thought we had taken all of the necessary precautions, but I still was very sick from the time I returned home until the next morning. This prevented me from taking my antibiotics until noon on day 1. Warning #1 - be sure to get suppositories if you tend to get sick from sedation.
Warning #2 - Your mid-section will be as sore as if you have done 1000 situps. OUCH! Getting out of bed was a real trick. Fortunately, by day 3, this begins to improve. Warning #3 - It may just be that I have not fully recovered to my previous level of fitness, but I didn't have the energy to get out of bed on day 1. This may be touted as non-invasive, but I felt as if I had had surgery. More to come in additional postings.

Day 4 -What a Difference!

I would never have believed a difference a few days makes. Wow, I am so happy with how the swelling has reduced and can actually see a difference in my size. I think this is going to be good. I am still very sore but have done my best to massage as directed. Twenty minutes 3 times per day may be excessive, but I am ensuring the "hard" areas are softened. I have moved from the binder that is

Dr. Marvel is very professional, kind and attentive. I spent several minutes with him approximately 3 weeks before the procedure. It was my 2nd time since I began researching my options. The staff is phenomenal. I was a patient of Dermess before Dr. Marvel purchased the practice, so I have known several of the nurses and aestheticians for many years. I was especially happy that Tammie and Taylor were involved! They are really knowledgeable and helpful. I called the practice early on the morning after and received the on-call attendant. He assured me someone would return my call at 8. Taylor called me that morning and Tammie checked on me in the afternoon. Did I say how great they are?
