Having breat cancer and a mactectomy I did a lot of research on DIEP flap reconstruction. I liked the idea of using my on tissue rather than an implant that could leak or have to be replaced. I found Dr. Wendel in Nashville,Tn. and after meeting with him, he said I was a good candidate for the procedure. We set a date and the sugery was performed. This surgery is more complex, takes longer and the recover is longer but it is worth it in my opinion.

I feel good and enjoy having my new breast, its like I am whole again.
