WORTH IT$6,500
I am 61 yo and 130 lbs, 5'3" tall. No matter how much I lifted weights and worked out with my trainer, the upper arms sagged. I had had enough! Having had a previous VERY positive experience with Dr Izquierdo, as had my daughter, I decided to go for the brachioplasty. The results are PHENOMENAL. Not only do my arms look fantastic, but the scars don't show, even though they extend from the armpits almost to the elbow. I LOVE Dr. Izquierdo! He is an AMAZING cosmetic surgeon, with an excellent eye for esthetics. I would not go to anyone else!

Surgeon took before oix. I did not. Wow. Yes, you way overcharged. De Block does a lot of advertisinf everywhere and it always seems suspicious to me when surgeons do that. As a doctor myself, i know my best referral is a happy patient. I was referred to my surgeon by another plastic surgeon/friend, who moved out of IL.

Thanks Julie. Yes, foolish me to go to him. I'm nervous about this surgery - having a reconstruction at the same time to replace implants- capsular contraction. Did my research this time... Bloch o big mistake- in all of the magazines, heralding he was on Oprah? Really??! Take care

Hi. Congratulations on your surgery. You said you have scars from your armpits almost to your elbows, but I only see a scar under your armpit. I'm a little confused. Did you have a full brachioplasty or the kind where the incision is only under the armpit? I've never seen one where there is a scar under the armpit and all the way down to the elbow.
Thank you.
Thank you.

Full brachioplasty. Three inch long incision in admit and 8-9 down the inside of my arm. The 8+ inch one is completely healed over and barely visible. The one in the armpit is still healing because of seams from clothes rubbing against it

Oh wow!!! Your arms look amazing and you can't even see the scar. Probably due to having good skin tone. Can you show the before pics and the incision going down the arm? Can you see the incision from the back when your arm is relaxed?

I didn't take before pics but my surgeon did. Will post if/when he sends them to me. And no, scars are not visible from the front or back. Barely visible when i raise my arms, except in the pits, but those are fading too wih twice daily apoloction of BioOil.

I need an arm lift, but not sure if I am suitable for this type of lift, not sure if I want a scar to my elbow, would have loved to see before pics of your arms, you have amazing results

I wanted to see your arms before the surgery to make a comparison, do you have any before pics

Thank you, I've looked at his photos on realself and there aren't any arm lift pics and for some reason his website page won't open.

your arms look great! Is this a full arm lift? I'm surprised that the scars are hardly noticeable. The doctor did a great job

Your scars are wonderful. Do you have any before photos? This would help us because there seems to be a correlation between the amount of skin and fat removed and the quality of the resulting scars. Did you have much liposuction or just enough to loosen the skin or was the skin merely undermined? Does having a smaller amount of skin and fat requiring removal, influence the resulting scar (assuming enough is present to warrant a long incision instead of only an armpit scar)? Does it make enough difference that having liposuction on the arms and waiting for healing before having the skin removed at a later date would result in less swelling and a better scar?

1. My incision is about 9-10 inches long down the inner part of the arm, and an additional 3 " in the armpit;
2. The width of skin removed was 2";
3. The scar is not dependent on the amount of skin removed but on the skill of the suturin technique of the surgeon. As a surgeon myself, I can attest to that;
3. Minimal lipo was done;
4. I would recommend having it (brachioplasty and lipo) all done at once. One entry, one anesthesia session, one post-op period and you're done.
5. FOR YOUR INFORMATION I wore the compression sleeves for six weeks- first two wks 24/7, after that only at night. I ordered mine from Raineywear.com. The one the doctors give you is terrible and looks ugly. The Raineywear ones come in three colors: white, beige, and black and it looks like you're wearing a shrug :)

I've heard that with the type of arm lift that you had, it's difficult to raise your arms above your head due to the armpit scar placement. Is that true? I'm considering an arm lift, but not sure which type to have done.
October 21, 2015
Not true. Only for the first 2 1/2-3 wks while he incision is healing. Once that has occurred, I have had full range of movement in both arms, with no problems! I'm thrilled with mine and would highly recommend the procedure and technique.

Do you have any before pictures? I'd love to see the difference. I'm getting mine done in 3 weeks.

The Doctor took pre-op photos. I don't have any. But the sagging was about 2 inches below where the skin is now.

That should have read "suturing" technique in the first point 3. (OOPS! Just noticed I had two point 3's!!!) Sorry.
