So yesterday I hit the two week post op mark. I had my one week post op consult with my surgeon last Wednesday and he said everything Is healing great!! I'm quite happy with the results so far, I know it takes awhile for them to settle and "drop n fluff". Patience is key!! Back to work at one of my jobs today. Will keep updating and posting pictures!! Can't wait till I can buy bras how long would you recommend waiting to buy one!?! Thanks ladies xo

You're results are amazing!!!! What size are your breasts now? Thanks for sharing btw! I read all your posts and they are really informative. I live in nanaimo and I've been thinking about getting the surgery done by your doctor as well and so far i'm very impressed! My boobs are about the same size as yours pre op and now your post op are my dream boobs!! :)

I'm seeing Dr Barnsley as well! Surgery booked for March 29! It refreshing for me to follow others that have seen and are going to see him. Very relaxed confident doctor. I really enjoy his receptionist as well.
Very excited for my surgery

I'm glad my posts have brought you some insight on your own BA journey. It truly is a different experience for everyone but it's so nice being able to share tips and advice! Dr.Barnsley was great through it all, I had my first consult and was able to book almost a month after. The first size he suggested to me was 375 which right away sounded much smaller then what I had hoped for. This being my second consult, I had the chance to discuss with another surgeon who had the 3D imaging machine on sizes before my consult with dr.barsnely so I went in already knowing the size I wanted. I was still stuck between 445 & 485 silicone apparently there wasn't too much of a difference so I decided to go with the 445 and I'm very glad I did. I have not been able to go bra shopping or get sized yet but I have my 2nd post op appt with Dr.B on the 27th and hope he gives me the okay to buy some new bras!! But if I had to guess I'm probably a full D maybe bigger? My friend got hers done by Dr.B back in June and she is the one who recommended him and I couldn't be happier with a local experienced surgeon such as himself. I've been wearing sports bras and bralettes which aren't the most flattering but comfortable. Most of my clothes still fit me just much tighter in the chest area obviously. I'm exactly four weeks post today and went back to the gym for the first time yesterday and it felt so amazing!! Strictly lower body and cardio of course but definitely feels different working out with boobs lol!! Just make sure you invest in a good sports bra, good support is key!! Will post some pictures of my progress soon :) Wishing you ladies the best of luck on your BA journey it's definitely worth it!!! Any questions about anything at all don't hesitate to ask :)

I'm a bit stressed to take so much time away from the gym so I hired a trainer for when i can return! Then I know I won't hurt myself.
One question I have for you is where in world did u find sports bras to open in front? I've been looking everywhere. I was hoping they'd supply one but now I guess i can a semi appealing one.
I'm so excited .. nervous all at once.

That's definitely a smart idea you don't want to push yourself too hard especially after surgery!! Finding a bra that did up in the front was sooooo difficult oh my goodness... believe it or not I eventually found one at Ardene in the mall!! It was great for the first couple days but I eventually just wore a normal sports bra and it was just as comfortable. You just don't want to be reaching above your head lots why they recommend the zip up ones. But best of luck to you and your surgery, I hope you get the results you dreamed of!! :)

Lorna Jane has amazing bras that open in the front. Pricy, but amazing. I took out the pads, but once I'm recovered I'll put them back in

Day 3 post op!!

User Avatar

So today is day three post op for me. Still taking my pain killers every four hours on top of my other meds. Still haven't been eating much, I've been drinking smoothies and lots of water. I Finally got to shower today it felt amazing, like taking a cast off lol! My boyfriend who's been such a great help, washed my hair and helped me dry off and get dressed. It felt rather strange/uncomfortable taking the bandages off I liked how tight it felt on, now I have to wear a sports bra for at least two weeks! I just need to find one that's more fitted and comfortable. But so far I'm happy!! Can't wait till they soften up and drop, I know it takes time and patience :) I have my post OP appt on this Wednesday coming up hoping he says the healing is going well!! Will keep updated but for now I'm still in bed rest!!

Yesterday was the BIG day!!

So yesterday was the big day, I had my surgery at 130 in the afternoon. I was in the OR for about an hour then woke up in recovery feeling pretty sleepy and out of it. Was in quite a bit of pain on a scaled of 1-10 (10 being the worst) I rated my pain at a 7 and she gave me more painkillers and kept me on the IV. I slept for about an hour after in the recovery room then I was moved to a big comfy lounger where my boyfriend could finally come in and see me. I had a ginger ale sat for a bit, then the nurses helped me get dressed then I was on my way! So total time spent at the clinic was 12:30-4:30! I live an hour away from where my surgery was so I brought a huge pillow and fuzzy blanket and just reclined myself right back and pretty well slept all the way home. I'm completely wrapped up obviously I've only been able to peek the tops of them and so far they look great! I can remove my wrap on day three and shower so (Saturday the 18th), I'm covered in the pink antibacterial all over my chest so I'll be excited for when I can shower again!! I've been taking my pain killers every four hours and just started my other meds I have to take 4 a day. Ice packs have also been my best friend highly recommend having two you can rotate in the freezer! And I also picked up stool softeners I haven't had to take them yet but better safe then sorry!! I have the best set up at home right now all perched up in bed with everything I could possibly need, my boyfriend has been nothing but amazing helping me in any way he possibly can. Definitely important to have someone you love and trust by your side for post op care!!
