Done a lot in my life to include serving my country for 21 years, raising a child on my own, and now interior designer for the past ten years. With turning 55 this year, my resolution was to get on board and have a very thorough physical to make sure I was still as healthy as I was when I retired from the military over 12 years ago (which was when my last thorough physical was). Well everything came back negative .. which was great, but then I look in the mirror an I see this saggy, excessive skin around my neck. I look back at pictures over the last 5 years and I've seen it just got worse!! So I contacted the salon where I get Restylne and Botoxand they recommended Dr. Balikian . I am now less than two weeks before the surgery . Excited but nervous ! Will keep you posted.

So less than a week from having the surgery . Got all my meds and started taking my Vitamin C. I am getting kinda nervous though . I worry about the down time . I run 4-6 miles almost everyday, and I worry about not being able to do what I enjoy . However, when I look at this picture of myself I just took , I know it will all be worth it.

In looking at the picture, you like me, only need the neck done. You will not regret it and you'll look ten years younger.

Same here, other than your neck you look very youthful. Was there a reason you didn't get just a necklift.

I think you will get a fabulous result as you have great bone structure.
Also thanks for your service!!

Day of Surgery 2 March 2016
Well after getting a bit teary-eyed in the waiting room and 2 tablets of Valium, I can excitedly say I made it through my neck lift surgery. Honestly Dr Balikian was amazing . During the two hour surgery, we talked about everything, from my favorite football team, Go Broncos, to his Patriots, to vacationing in Cabos, Puerta Vallarta, and Greece . The entire two hours I was just such at ease . Sure there was pinch and a pull here and there but nothing that painful . So thank you Dr Balikian and your assistants for making those 2 hours enjoyable !!

So you did not get general anesthesia?

did you hire someone to stay with you the first night?

April 18, 2016
I had a friend stay with me the first night . It was actually pretty easy . She really didn't do anything ,she was just there for support . :)

That's perfect. You really don't need someone 24/7. Good luck . Keep me posted . And it's OK to get a little emotional before the surgery . I did .. I got tearied eyed .. But it was so worth it!!
