Your neck is just wonderful and I believe you when you say you didn't have anything else done but your whole face looks younger and brighter.

Hello,
How are you feeling and healing. Tomorrow I have my appointment to see the Dr . You mentioned in the post above you had some tethering, what is that and did it go away. I'm a little nerve and excited at the same time. I'm really starting to dislike my neck a lot.

I'm doing great . The area I was concerned with is improving .The Dr called it tethering. I call it a bit of pleated skin due to the drains. It is getting better . A month ago the dr gave me a steroid injection to flatten it out , and then I've been massaging the area per dr orders . Still not perfect after 2 months but I see him again next Tuesday . Excited to show him how it has improved but also anxious to hear what's our next step is. Honestly nobody notices the area but I do , and that's what matters.
I am still so very happy with the results. It's amazing .!!

Almost 5 weeks post op
Hello everyone . Almost 5 weeks since my surgery on 5 March. Neck still a bit tight and ears are tender. Also had a bit of tethering on my neck so Dr Balikian gave me a steroid shot in the area yesterday . He said that problem area should go away . Need to massage area a bit everyday . Will go back and see him in another month. Other than that .. Happy with the results:)

You look absolutely stunning, The Dr did such an amazing job! Did you have some kind of nerve block or numbing injections for the surgery? Is the surgery done in a operating room. How come you opted not to have the twilight sleep? I was looking to get this procedure done and they wanted to complete anesthesia, that really scared me! I had given up on the idea of doing anything with my neck till I saw your post.
Thank you so much for post, I now have an appointment to see Dr Balikian in a couple of weeks.
How are the scars healing?
Best Wishes, Michelle

Hi Michelle, I took two Valium and he numbed me up a bit with injections but I was awake thru the entire procedure. He recommended that and I went with it. And it was in a small very comfortable room in Del Mar...And the scars from the stitches and staples are healing nicely, no worries there . You are in good hands with the Doctor , he's a sweetheart . Please let him know that you saw my post.. Cindi Schaefer..

Hi Cinidi,
Was it a surgery center? Did he give a reason for why he wanted to do it this way. The other doctor I saw wanted to use an operating room and anesthesia. I'm scared to go under general anesthesia. You certainly did make a quick recovery. Were you laying down on a table? sorry for so many questions. The Dr befores and afters are very impersive.
Best wishes, Michelle

Hi Michelle
I had my surgery at Ranch and Coast Plastic Surgery Center in Dr Mar . Dr Balikian works out of there sometimes but his main office is in Murrieta.
As far as just taking the Valium and not going under anesthesia, he informed me that this was a simple procedure and really not needed but it was my choice . And really he was right . I really liked being totally awake thru it all and I don't like general anesthesia either . And yes I was very fortunate , After day 3 post op I was out walking my dog 5 miles a day . And after a month I am back to running 4-5 miles again .
And yes you are laying down on a table , they put something over your eyes just so you aren't blinded by the bright lights . My surgery took 2 hours :)
And keep the questions coming . This is what this site is all about .
