NOT a Glowing Report
This review may be in contrast to others, but if I'm contemplating surgery, I'd give it some consideration. Though I was quite disappointed in Dr. Frank's unprofessional manner, I wasn't going to write a review, but the more I thought about it, the more I thought I should inform others as to the way I was treated. Not just for myself, but for their research considerations toward finding the right doctor.
A number of weeks ago, I had an email string with Dr. Frank regarding a possible ThermiTight (skin tightening) procedure on my abdomen, flanks and back. At first, he was professional and answered my questions and concerns. But being that I am in my early 50s, and have never had a surgical procedure in my life, I was nervous and wanted to check all of the boxes for questions and concerns that I had.
Though he answered each email (except the last), he became short, and then became shorter. Then he told me that in my case the ThermiTight procedure would need to be done in a surgical center (everything I have read on ThermiTight states that this is not the case). When I then asked if this was considered a dangerous procedure in my particular case, his final response was a curt "No."
So I guess I wore out my welcome with questions about the safety and outcome of undergoing a surgical procedure. And even though he had stated at one point that his assistant Lisa would be contacting me with pricing and scheduling information, she never did. When I followed up with him a week later asking for the pricing so that I could schedule, he ignored my email. Again, too many questions I assumed.
So call this as you see it. Did I ask a lot of questions? You bet. Would I have gone in for an in-person, paid consultation (if that were the problem)? Yes, of course, I wanted to ensure that this was the right decision.
My conclusion is that this would not be a doctor that I would want performing a surgical procedure on me. I can only imagine that if there needed to be a follow-up due to any complication, he'd likely not be up for that either. In my case, I will continue my search for the right physician, one who understands that questions about a surgery are not merely the work of some unintelligent nuisance.
Best of luck with your research and choice of physician.
