2 month ago I got my Tattoo on my upper arm. Since that moment I've been regretting this so much. Now I'm thinking about to get a tattoo removal.
I went to my first consultation at "Tattoo X" in munich.
They told me that I have a good chance that my tattoo will fade COMPLETELY with several treatments with their Picosure Laser. A Cover Up Tattoo is no Solution for me! They said that I will need approximately 7 sessions. But I am a little skeptical that 7 sessions will be enough.
What do you think? Is that realistic?
I'm feeling very depressive right now and have no more fun in life. I'm afraid of that my tattoo won't disappear completely and it's going to look more worse than now. In that case I would lose my self-confidence completely I guess.
My hope was that I can deal with this tattoo on my arm and get used to it but after 2 month I think I lost that hope. Maybe I should wait a little longer before I make a final decision.
Sorry for my bad english I hope you can understand everything ;-)

The artwork on your tattoo is beautiful! Whoever did it, is very talented! That being said, I understand what it's like to have a tattoo you don't want. I think Picosure would be a fantastic option for you - most of that shading will disappear in the first couple of sessions and the outline will fade after a few more. There isn't a lot of heavy line work, so 7 sessions could do it for you if the right settings are used. Make sure to space your treatments about 8 weeks apart. I've done treatments 4, 6, and 8 weeks apart and the best fading I've seen is when it's at least 8 weeks.

I agree with khris81, your artist is very talented, beautiful tattoo!

I have a collection of inspirational tattoo removal stories if you want to have a look: https://www.realself.com/noteb...

I'm confident that I will be adding your review to the collection as I think you would have great success with removal being that your tattoo is mostly shading.

Keep us posted on your next steps. And as I always say, chin up, it's only a tattoo. ;)

Hi :) your tattoo looks cool but if you're serious about removal, since your tattoo looks mostly greywash (shading) it should definitely remove majority of it really quickly :) but it also depends on how much dark black ink or how deep it was done also... I rather think your removal would be more closer 10-15 sessions for complete removal in 2-4 years. Wish you all the best!

Hey Domi, I'm from Germany too. I've already read your Posts on tattooscout. I've started with my removal one week ago. So, I'll follow your process, if you decide to remove your Tattoo. 7 sessions could be enough, because you have a lot shadings and thin lines. And if it's not completly gone after 7 Treatments I guess it won't be much visible. Just take your time between the sessions! Ich wünsche Dir alles Gute!

My favorite success-story: https://www.realself.com/review/true-skin-medispa-tattoo-removal-my-chances
No removal after 7 Treatments, because his outlines were very bold. But watch how the shading disappears after the first sessions!

Thank you very much. It's good to know that I'm not the only one who regrets his Tattoo. I wish you all the best for your removals! I know that it can feel terrible if you have a tattoo that you dont want anymore.

Feeling so depressed

Hey all :-) now I my final decision is that my Tattoo has to be removed!! But in the moment I'm so down and so depressed, I can't believe in what kind of stupid situation I brought myself. It feels like I Will Never be happy again. It's a torture for me walking around in T-Shirts because of my Tattoo.

I'm also super worried about the Tattoo removal. What should I do If everything goes wrong and the Tattoo just wont disappear?? Than It will look much more horrible than now!
If that Happens my life would be over I guess... that how I'm thinking right now.

What If I can' stand It anymore?
What If I'm too weak for such treatments?

I cant sleep anymore, everything I'm thinking about is my Tattoo.

Right now it's just the worst time of my life!
I could cry...

Hey Domi, I have felt the same these past months, sometimes I feel better but others I feel horrible about it. I felt really depressed over it but now I am dealing better. Being in the cold weather helps since I can wear long sleeved shirts more often. My tattoo is in my upper arm too, and it was red and black, and I already had 6 treatments using Q-switch (next month I am going to have my first Picoway treatment). The black faded almost completly after only 2 treatments, but the red is not fading so much. I have been having hypopigmentation, but I decided I rather have just a blur of the red tattoo then having it like it is right now. I really think your tattoo looks cool, but since you decided you want it removed, you are lucky since black is one of the easiest colors to remove. Also the lines in your tattoo are thin, so I think they would not be that hard to remove. I never felt any pain during the laser treatments. Actually, at least for me, getting a tattoo is a lot more painful then getting it removed. You probably spent a few hours to get the tattoo done, but the laser only takes a few minutes. You are not alone, trust me :) This site is really helpful, people are supportive and non-judgemental. Also you can see lots of photos, to see that the removal is possible with great results.

How are you dealing with your hypopigmentation? After how many Treatments appeared the hypopigmentation? Is it very "eye-catching" or is It more discreet? Behause I'm also worried about hypopigmentation. But I guess I cant do something to prevent hypopigmentation right?
November 26, 2016
It is weird because I only had the hypopigmentation after my last treatment (5th), but they used the highest potency of the laser, because QSwitch is not good with red. Now I am going to use the Picoway laser that apparently causes less damage to the skin.
It is quite subtle, and if my skin was more pale it would be unnoticeable. I went to a dermatologist and she said the hypopigmentation is permanent, but other said that it can go back to normal after a few years, and there are some treatments for it. I decided I would rather deal with hypopigmentation then with the tattoo

Hello fellow tattoo regretter!! You should not beat yourself up about this tattoo. It is not you, nor does it represent you as a person even though you picked it. You have a great advantage since your tattoo is only black ink and it consists of mostly shading and thin lines. I was also told 7 treatments for my tattoo, but here I am 7 treatments later and it is still there. Check our my review. Compared to your tattoo, my tattoo was much darker and the outline was much thicker. I know I need probably 4 additional treatments (maybe more), but I am very satisfied with my choice in getting it removed and my progress. As for your tattoo, I am 100% sure that you will need fewer treatments than me. If you hate it that much, then there is no point in waiting around. Get started :) Looking forward to following your progress. Good luck and hope you feel better

oh dear, don't worry.. there is a solution for every problem... it may. not be your first choice but you will find yourself in a better place honestly. I t will really help to talk it over with someone you trust. dont rush for a cover-up.. find a true tattoo ARTIST. cant stress that enough, let them see your hated tattoo, leave a photo and ask if they will design the best cover up. A lot of their work comes by personal recommendation so they will do something nice, if they are genuine. laser removal is very very expensive and in my experience looks messy afterwards.. I had a grotty tattoo years ago. its a mess now, but I am having a beautiful cover up done soon by an artist who I know, trust and seen his artwork on my daughter. I have chosen to have a beautiful tattoo, rather than a mess I have to hide. I wish you success and happiness.

just to add to my previous comment,... your tattoo is not a really bad one anyway, I think the subject and actual work are pretty cool. please dont rush into anything as I said before, you have time to think about it before next summer. I s it possible that you just haven't got used to it yet? It is obviously a change and maybe you need to adjust to that? In my own case now I am older, I would choose to tyrn back time and not have a tattoo at all, but that is not an option so as I said, I am choosing a piece of beautiful artwork on my upper arm, rather than the mess I have had for years that dictates what I can wear and embarrasses me. Try to give yourself TIME, you may even think differently in a short while. Another option may be to have your tattoo improved, maybe with a little colour. Find a really good artist and ask their advice. when I get my cover up, in January I will post the before and after. Last word... just don't let ANY amateur of ANY procedure ANYWHERE near your skin! hug to you from me. relax, it will be fine in the end.

Thank you very much for sharing your expierence. I know that my Tattoo is done pretty good and many other people also say that It Looks very cool but in spite of that I dont like it. I am not able to walk around in a T-shirt because I'm feeling so ugly and unattractive. Can someone of you maybe tell me how I can get rid of these feelings???? I would be so happy If I could say one day that I'm Fine with my Tattoo now and I can live with It. I am so afraid that my Tattoo Looks like a mess after the Treatments and It's not faded completely. Than I would be more depressed than now probably. I am still hoping that I just have to get used to It. But I've been struggling for 2 month now and I'm not very optimistic that It will become much better anymore. I also thought about improving my Tattoo but what If I dont like It afterwards. I think I am feeling not good with a big Tattoo like I have on my arm. I know now it's too Late to think about It but it's the way It is. It says: You can get used to EVERYTHING maybe thats right who knows??

hi again, I feel so concerned for you. nobody wants to lose confidence in their appearance. may be you just have to let go of your present feelings, which seems to be very strongly "all or nothing"...... find the best compromise may be the most comfortable way for you? At 34 I allowed my then husband to persuade me to have a tattoo. I have aleays hated it, but as long as I wore a small sleeve I could hide it. in later years I tried to have just the name removed. it cost me hundreds of pounds I couldn't afford, now I have a hideous green blob with a total mess underneath it. It has been horrible living with that. I cant wait to get my cover up. I f you go for an improvement rather than a total cover, just a few small areas with the beautiful colours they use now, done artistically, you may just start to love it. again I think you would really be helped by chatting to the best artist you can find. I really hope you resolve this. all the best ok.

I decided to upload a second row of photos. Do you still think that it has a good chance to be removed completely?
I'm really uncertain.
In this photos it looks much darker as It looked in the other photos.

I won't lie it hurts like hell and is expensive but I already feel so much better having started but I know it is going to be a long road but I feel positive about it good luck whatever you decide it's a horrible feeling I sympathise with you

Hi :) I know that kind of feeling you are going through... you need to cool down and think if you really don't want the tattoo? put a tattoo by impulse but don't remove by impulse . I has one small unicorn which I put it in Jan 2016 and I start remove it on march 2016. Cos I feel is a impulsive tattoo so I wanted to removed though the unicorn very cute but I went ahead to remove it . after 7 sessions, the unicorn still very dark in black , I have to say is a Too New tattoo to remove . Just to remind you, unless u really don't want the tattoo and willing to go through the Long process all the way till is completely removed. 1. there might be a lot of ink as is a new tattoo 2. And to take note , the ink will be thicker once u go through laser, so if u really don't want it u can go for it ! Otherwise don't start , it will make it not as nice as now if u suddenly stop the laser due to any reason . My unicorn ink become thicker hence not as nice as I put , you can see from my picture before and after laser . My comment are base on my individual experience. Hope my advise help

High there! I have similar situation to yours. I made my tattoo month ago and now i regret it. I made decision to remove it and start treatment as soon as possible (waiting for my first visit in clinic). We must be patient, try to think positive. I know it will be hard. But we make it happen. You have my support.:)
