Alexes Hazen Made my Ass Quantifiably More Kissable. JUST KIDDING OMG Seriously, She's Amazing Tho

i have had multiple gender affirming procedures with dr. hazen over the course of the last 3 years. throughout our clinical relationship, she and her staff have been consummately knowledgeable, available, prompt, efficient, and engaged with myself and other patients of theirs whom i know. it's a breath of fresh air to deal with a clinical team whose working dynamic and comradery are so dialed in that you can submit a document, make a call, or send an email to one person and simply rest assured that by day's end, the relevant information has been communicated to everyone concerned. And when i say Jill and Erica are ON IT?? i remember showing up for a procedure around 6 or 7 in the morning one late summer, looking rather beastly, at a completely different facility than the usual office, and jill and erica were right there giving full business casual with dr. hazen, calmly dealing with the day's affairs while waiting for my arrival since who knows what time. i barely know how to groom myself or speak at that hour; erica may or may not have been wearing an entire heeled pump. All jokes aside, i cannot overstate how devastatingly common it is, across the country and across the board, for aesthetic surgeons (even those who work regularly with transgender clientèle) to range anywhere from casually ignorant to outwardly antagonistic, apathetic, and opportunistic, taking advantage of their patients' vulnerabilities, good faith, and lack of research / available specific information on trans health and healthcare options.Dr. hazen and her team are a welcome relief from this tendency, and she remains one of the only surgeons whose instincts, results, and clinical opinion i truly trust and respect. in instances where i've sought a procedure or approach that dr. hazen didn't offer, she has always been able to provide not only a coherent and detailed explanation of the disadvantages and risks underlying her decision, but also multiple alternative approaches and providers with whose work she is familiar who may offer other options. This unfortunately rare combination of skill and generosity is a treasure, and i feel incredibly lucky to have been able to access care through her practice. I might also add that i am far from an easy patient to work with. not only did i come into consult each time with an incredibly specific and exacting vision of what i was going for (not only in appearance and form but in movement, response to touch, texture, alignment, density, and so on).I also presented with a history of being lied to, ignored, and botched by other surgeons. dr. hazen has been consistently adept at assuaging my anxieties and concerns both pre and post surgery, and - of utmost importance to me - has been willing and able to look earnestly at a result once healed and discuss potential modification or revision when the outcome isn't quite where i'd like it to be yet.Where other surgeons have been obstinate and defensive, dr. hazen has confidently guided me through the many stages of this journey into an embodiment and sense of personal fulfillment i wasn't sure i'd find previously. my experience of her practice is one defined by a healthy and pragmatic balance of self determination on the part of the patient with results that are reliable, carefully considered, natural looking, and harmonious not only with one's physique and proportions, but with one's expressed sense of being in the world.

Given all this, the icing on the cake is really the fact that she and her team have chosen to build their practice in a profoundly accessible way by working in close contact with medicaid managed care plans and insurance teams to ensure that patients of various class backgrounds, many of whom would not otherwise be able to secure these life saving interventions for themselves, have a defined pathway to care. on multiple occasions, jill, barbara, erica, and dr. hazen herself have gone above and beyond to bring the necessary elements together and make magic happen. I am so, so profoundly grateful for all their hard work and expertise, and i could not recommend them more highly.
