LOVING MY NEW BODY!
ll I have not updated my profile in a long while. I have allot on my mind so I may be long winded! It has been 380 days :) since my TT and 400 since BL. I can honestly say i am still very very happy with my decision to get both BL and TT done. Just to remind everyone this is something I decided on my own and did for myself. This is something you must do for yourself and no one else! I have officially gotten rid of all my old "fat" clothes and am proud to say I am consistently wearing a size 6 pants/shorts. My weight was at 174 day of surgery and since I have managed to loose a little getting down to 155. My goal is 140 and I am still determined to get their just got to stay focused. Wearing clothes that actually fit my contour and that are not hanging off me helps remind me not to over eat...if you know what I mean and once I get to my goal my plan is to stay :)! It's all about consistent healthy living keeping the body moving and mind focused on the goal and end result. Before surgery I hadn't felt good in my own skin for a long time I guess really more so since my hysterectomy in 95'. Man have I learned allot since that surgery....Don't assume your dr cares about what he's actually doing to your body. He left my belly and muscle wall a wreck! Cut me from belly button to pubic closing me up with huge staples. OMG! So before any procedure get informed ask questions of your dr, google, do your homework know what your getting yourself into and by all means make sure your comfortable with the dr. Despite that horrible experience it lead me to where I am today. Today I actually like what I see in the mirror with or without clothes! I love how my body looks and feels...its no longer lumpy! I am still working on my arms and legs trying to obtain optimal firmness and started using a skin firming cream Nerium all over to help tighten everything as I loose the weight. My scars are healing ok... I seem to have over active scarring causing thick and kinda raised skin in some areas and redish and other areas are very light and smooth...It's kinda weird. But I'm not worried :) in the least my PS just started laser treatment to see if we can lighten and reduce the thickness. I have only had one treatment and already see color lighter and a few areas shrinking. Speaking of my PS I couldn't have been in better hands. I and am so very pleased with the care, compassion and continued support Ram Kalus has given me. He is the best at what he does and cares about the end result as much if not more than you do! Him and his assistant Reba were available anytime and answered all of my questions and calmed all my concerns ensuring me my concerns would deminish and they did. Thing's took their shape and formed in due time just as they indicated. I am attaching some pics just before TT and most recent. Will updated on the scar treatments once I get a couple behind me.
I wish everyone a HAPPY Easter! I also want to say to all those skeptical about doing body reconstruction of any kind. Do your homework on the Dr, make sure you are comfortable with Dr and ask questions. Like where the cut will be made and how low it will be and how long it will be. These are very important once the incision is made their is no do over. Check to see if they have recent before and after success stories, etc. This is a life changing event and an huge investment. One that you will have forever and like any investment you want to take good care of it. Be good to your body and love the new you by treating it right! Don't let anyone lead you down old paths keeping you from eating healthy and staying fit. Lastly everyone's bodies are different and while some may make this sound like a walk in the park I for one can say it was not. Healing and pain is different for everyone be patient and if your PS did his job results will come. Believe me I was in shock the day after like WTH did they do to me. From bruised body and a chest that looked like a body armor flat and tight. Days and weeks went by and the bruises went away and my breast perked and dropped ever so slightly :) Don't over do things to early give your body time to heal and form. Then slowly work your way back into fitness. It is an emotional ride watching your body take shape just think positively and have patience!

Another update
I went through my closets and what I couldn't wear I bagged up. Mind you from previous posting I don't give clothes away...I was always of the mind set that I will grow into them or loose to wear them. That is no longer a part of my thought all fat clothes are officially at good will and as the next couple weeks and months progress I see more going. I may just end up with a new wardrobe :) Yipee!!!

Ha, I am so doing that too...getting rid of the fat clothes. I have a ton of blouses that their sole purpose was to cover the rolls and now I don't even want to look at them. My goal weight is 140 as well, maybe even 135, but I had a very evil weekend, friends over, lots of good wine, that sort of thing. It's so much fun putting clothes on now isn't it? Things look good! Glad to see you are on the mend finally!
Yes it is awesome to put on a simple t-shirt ot tank top and see no role..or pair of shorts or panrd that contour your body with no bulge above the waste and below :).... Clothes were used to hide my body....now they will be used to compliment my new body. This has given me a whole new outlook on life! Would I do it again HELL YEA!
I know, RIGHT??!! This has been the best thing EVER! I am dying to go get a new pair of jeans, but being only 7 wks post op, I have no idea what my size will be. I need to keep telling myself be patient and not go waste $100 on a pair of jeans that may not fit in 1 mth. lol
I tell you I have bought so much stuff and brought it home only to take it back. Mainly compression garmets...but I made a promise to myself not to buy anything until I at least get to my goal weight. Seriously I tried on a few compression garmets thinking their a little snug but thats ok...only to wash them put them on for an hour or so and think this is crazy tight. Since I never throw anything out I still have clothes that fit....my husband says is that still in style. ..what does he know about style...I have a couple pair of brand new jeans I am dieing to get into maybe next week. I will post pics if I manage to slither in them :)
Ohhh....lucky you.... I bought a couple of dresses for work cause everything was too big. I managed to get into a pair of jeans that I hadn't worn for eons, but sadly out of style. I tried on some skinny jeans at a store last week but the were $300...yikes. Needless to say I didn't buy them plus I don't know of in ready for skinny jeans on an emotional level... Lol. I was still seeing my old body in my mind and thought I looked hidious. The sales girl was saying wow, you look fabulous..., funny how we do that, huh?
you look fabulous! good to purge the old fat clothes. you are now onto a new path. shed the old 'you'. definitely will call for a new wardrobe! :)
thank you for sharing your story.I am having a tt and bl/reduction in the fall. I am learning so much from all of you ladies, thank you all!
Just curious as to why your surgery was so expensive? It seems the going rate is under $20,000 all in including an over night stay?
Sorry hadn't been on line in a while but I am going to update pics soon. To answer your question 35k...well that was EVERYTHING I had invested beginning to end. I will say every bit of 32k was to Dr. You say why so much! One thing for sure I could have saved $ of I had done breast and TT at the same time. How much I'm not sure but I'm sure it would have been at least 5k. I am tight with my money I don't but expensive clothes or cars heck I squeeze every bit of shampoo out the bottle and then put water in to get some more...But when it comes to your body and a knife...you don't want to bargin shop.. This Dr promised me good results and I think I got excellent results. I have a thick scar in some areas because I have over active scar healing (wording?) He is still helping me with scar care through new laser treatments and will continue until we are both happy. I wouldn't think twice about choosing my Dr Kalus for this procedure and any future needs. I was very nervous going into this and to be honest he was my one stop shop. He made me feel SO VERY COMFORTABLE that I just knew he would make my body as beautiful as he possibly could. Every concern along the way he assured me would clear up or go away and they did...to my amazement! Like I said I found this dr, went through consultation and signed the papers all by myself all my decision. Then I told my husband...lol..My husband claims i was fine the way I was but it's not about what our spouses think or what others think about us it's about what we think about ourselves. After my hysterectomy surgery I absolutely hated looking in the mirror at the horrible scar my OBGYN Dr cut from belly button to private. I hate to say "Live and learn" but that surgery taught me what to look for in a dr and what questions to ask. So long and short you want quality results and someone to stand behind their work...you gotta pay for it. I have seen allot of surgeries on real self since mine and saw the prices and some so much cheaper it actually scared me :)! Some results have been horrible, some settled with outcome and planned for additional adjustments, some excellent results. Bad results are all in my opinion because of the dr...The Dr has to be good at what he does :) and the Dr and patient not being on same page with expectations and outcome from procedure. Anyhow this surgery has changed the way I feel about myself and look at myself. I am certainly more attentive to what I put in my body and how I take care of my overall health!
My husband use to always say and he still does...IT'S only money you can make more! So since the surgery I keep reminding him of that.lol...another point to make is you can't take it with you when you die. And I'm not working to keep someone else in riches when I die! Look for pics soon!

I am 5 weeks post op and have discarded most of my previous clothes, especially the tops to cover rolls and the button ones that no longer fit cuz my boobits are Itty bitty. I spendy free time going through every thrift store in town and have managed to put together a decent temp wardrobe and a very small amount of $$. I not buying expensive replacements until next Spring when I know swelling is behind me and I have been back in the gym toning up what I didn't have worked on. For the first time since my teens and early 20s I LOVE putting together an outfit from head to toe
