If you wouldn't mind me asking, how much was your procedure? I've been doing research trying to find out how I can pay for it.

6700. Your provider/MD office may be able to guide you to outside financing...

I'm one week away now. Started taking the PPI today. Did you take the Emend? Levsin? Phenergan Suppositories? I haven't picked up those Rx as yet. Not sure if I should wait until I need them. I'll have to call my doc as I don't remember if the Emend is mandatory. Luckily my insurance brings it down to $50.
My main question is the soft foods prior to surgery? Suggestions?

I am getting ready for this procedure and just scared ir doesn't work. Would you do it again?
September 20, 2016
It works... if you work the plan. YES.. I would do it again! It's not a cure all, you have to put in the work as well...so that you can change your mind set to eating healthy and adding exercise... it does make a big difference on my appetite. Some days I'm hungry..and I try to eat more low calorie foods then, load up on veggies...

You will regain it all if you don't change your mind set with regards to eating foods...the right foods...

One Month -17.2# couldn't be happier with the progress. I've started adding cardio this week, 20 minutes on tread mill and will build up from there.

Can you post a typical day of eating now that you're about a month post procedure?

One Month Post Procedure

Still going strong! I've had bad days, but I'm learning to rethink my food, calorie, and exercise decisions.
I'm down - 20 range in just one month! I'm almost half way to my goal. I do need to continue to focus on exercise and increasing my steps/day. Love my Garmin tracker and my fitness pal app to track food/weight and more.
I'm happy I decided to do the orbera procedure. It's the kick start and everyday tool that I needed to reprogram my brain and body with regard to food/exercise.

Did you have to take time of work to do this? I want to try it but I am a little nervous about life after the balloon is removed. I've lost weight before but ended gaining it back... I don't want that again... How are you doing now with it? Have you lost more weight?

I'm able to eat more as the months pass, but I'm continuing to monitor my intake and make note of when I mess up or get off track. I gained my weight by eating everything I wanted and I cannot go back to that life.. so I continue with reprogramming my brain and eating habits!
Would I do it again, the Orbera, absolutely! The first 1-2 weeks are rough but I made it!
I'm down about 35# at this point. I've begun to fluctuate up and down by 6#, but it is my eating of the wrong things and too many calories that made that happen. I get back on track and lose it again.
I get removal sometime in March... so I'm planning on making the most of my final days with the obera...
Don't lose hope... this works...but you have to do the work too, and you cannot go back to your old eating habits if you want the results to last long term...

I've lost weight several times in my life, but I've never had so much loss in inches, so quickly. Take your measurements prior to your procedure so you have something to look back on
