Face and Eye Lifts - Morristown, NJ

It’s finally here—time for my rhytidectomy and upper and lower lid lift—otherwise known as my face lift. Scary sounding, I know.

It was absolutely the scariest week of my life. I didn’t sleep for two days before the surgery because I was so nervous. I believe instead of thinking about how much better I would look, I was apprehensive about looking different. And instead of thinking how much more youthful my skin would look, I was concentrating on the pain.

Well, Tuesday finally came and I entered the hospital for the surgery. The nurses were all great and reassuring—making me feel as comfortable as I could be. When Dr. Rafizadeh arrived, he again made me feel less terrified. Unfortunately, the surgery started an hour and a half late due to his prior patient surgery, so I had to wait nervously for a bit longer. All I could think of was I hope he had time for lunch so he wouldn’t think of food during my surgery! LOL

Once the surgery began he calmed my fears with his ever so gentle manner. The needles to numb were very mild indeed and I finally realized I didn’t have to dread this surgery for an entire week. (If only I had known!!) I couldn’t believe that the pain was nowhere near as bad as I anticipated. As a matter of fact, I was given a prescription for pain medication but only had to use Tylenol. The worse part was looking in the mirror and seeing all the beautiful shades of purple I had turned.

I am so pleased to look like a better me--only 15 years younger. And at 65 years of age, I am delighted to be able to say that.
