Update and close up of scar
Just wanted to post some updated pictures. Not much has changed except I feel like I can finally smile fully. The scar gets better and better everyday. I don’t feel like I even need to wear makeup on it. I don’t think my lip has dropped yet. Somedays my cheeks look a little swollen. I go for my follow up appointment tomorrow. Overall super happy with my results. I love the new shape of my lips!
Loving my new lips!
In my experience it is the 4 week post op range that I finally feel like no one can notice I had any work done. I can finally hold a conversation without restricting my lips. I can’t smile fully yet, but very close. The swelling in my lower cheeks is completely gone and I am loving my new balanced look! The scar did turn more red after week 2, but is going away now. I wore makeup on it once and got a pimple near the incision so I don’t anymore. I also think it’s less noticeable without makeup on. I now just clean with soap and apply sunscreen during the day.
2 weeks post op and loving it!
Yesterday, my friend came over who didn’t know about the surgery. As soon as she got to my house I immediately asked her to guess what’s different about me....she had no clue. I said my lips! She said you can’t tell at all that I had surgery. Dr Rafizadeh gave me the perfect subtle change to my face that has made me feel beautiful and confident. I can barely even notice the scar at only 2 weeks post op. I am still being extra careful with my mouth movements so if I get excited while talking my face definitely looks funny, but other than that no one would ever know. I can’t smile fully or kiss my fiancé properly, but it’s better to be careful now so I can heal properly. I look slightly swollen in the mornings, but sleeping with my head up should get rid of that. I,feel stayed out of the sun completely these past two weeks, but will start wearing sunblock everyday now. I go back to work in another two weeks and will keep you all updated!
