Morpheus8 *Do Not Do This Procedure*

I was always told by my MD, fraxel was the best procedure to treat the fine lines, texture and pore issues around my mouth and chin. I was always scared to touch my face with exception to botox or sculptra (which I had only done twice). I was referred to a nurse and asked her about Morpheus8 or fraxel for my concerns and she said Morpheus8 all the way. She did not listen to the two areas I wanted to treat. Sold me her modality not what was best for my face. I am incredibly thin. Little did she tell me that this procedure would refine my jawline and remove volume in my entire face that I couldn’t afford to lose in the first place. All I wanted was fine lines and texture improvement. My texture is now like an orange peel all over the bottom half of my face, my tone is dull, hyper pigmentation increased, and my skin doesn’t feel the same, it feels awful. My chin has marks and indentations it didn’t have before due to the loss of volume. My chin/Jawline has been refined to a square like chin and volume is gone from my mid face and below. I went there to take after photos and I had tinted sunblock and her feedback was oh your tone looks great. I went to my derm and she said that she would never have done that procedure on me. Now i can’t replace the fat that was removed I have to pay an extra 1400 for sculptra to fill in those areas lost. My texture is also so much worse and you can see my veins from the loss of volume in my lower face. It’s awful. My under eye area is much more crepey *see pics below. Feel like it aged me by 10 years. Biggest regret. Above all she didn’t even tell me how to properly prepare for this procedure like stop retin a five days prior which I learned after the fact or tell me how painful it would be or that she was resurfacing (burning my chin and under eye area).

I am so sorry to hear about your experience. I am also going through the same thing. I’m three months out from my only and last treatment of Morpheus. I’ve lost a tremendous amount of fat under my eyes causing a more aged look. I’m horrified and don’t even recognize myself in photos. I went back to where I had the treatment about a month out and she also commented about the sculpted look. Since then, my under eye volume has depleted. I reached out again to where I got it done and it’s been a back and forth of emails to try to get me in again.

I’m just wondering how much more fat I will lose in my face. I just went in for some tightening because of the beginning of jowls. I asked for no fat ablation and ended up with facial wasting. I’ve read you can lose fat from this procedure up to 6 months.

I hope you are recovering from all of this. I feel this product should be taken off the market.

What did the center say when you tried to go back again? Have you asked them for your money back or how they can help
You? Did they take before pictures then after pictures when you went back this last time? Was this done at a dermatologist office or a plastic surgeons’s office? I’m so sorry. How is your skin? Are you having any issues at all with your moisture balance? Has the texture changed, is your skin sensitive to anything you put on it? I can’t put retinol or vitamin c in it. It is constantly in an inflammatory state.

I finally have a follow-up appointment with their plastic surgeon. I'm hoping he will be able to address the issues. They did take before pictures and after pictures when I had a follow-up with them. The nurse who did the procedure said it might be my hormones, allergies or lifestyle changes. I was shocked. It was a lack of empathy and accountability. I told her I noticed it a week after the treatment, especially under my eyes and in my cheek area. I am 38 years old and recently had blood work done to which everything looks good. I have not lost weight in my body. There were no changes in lifestyle etc. The nurse said that she would email my concerns to IN Mode (the makers of Morpheus) and email me in a week. She never emailed me so I thought I would wait it out to see if the volume would come back/for the collagen to add volume back - obviously has not.

Were you able to rectify your concerns with the place that you went to? I'm worried they are going to discount what has happened. Obviously there are risks to everything but this is life-altering.

My skin is not the same at all. I have incredibly dry skin and an increased amount of fine lines, especially under my eyes. The texture has changed to an orange peel look when in the sunlight you can see it. Looks aged. I have this pitting in my right chin. My skin feels too tight/it's uncomfortable when I smile but I'm guessing that has to do with how dry my skin is.
I have only been using gentle cleansers and moisturizes because my skin has been uncomfortably dry.

I wish I never did this treatment to my face. Besides the jowls that I wanted to combat, I told the nurse I just wanted to have the treatment done to my neck area. She said that I might as well do my whole face since I am paying for the needles ($1,550.00) - huge regret.

Side note: I'm not sure how to add photos to my reply.

Did you post on here? I would name the place if they don’t work with you. I’m in the same boat. My skin is in bad shape. I am constantly peeling, inflamed, can’t use vitamin c or retin a. Waiting to get into my dermatologist. My friend is a plastic surgeon in town and he was mad I didn’t consult him before I did this. You can post PICTures if you post! Or you can email me. I would like to see your pictures. I’m so sorry. This has affected me and every aspect of my life too. I’m going to name the person and the place if I don’t get it resolved.

I’m hoping they are able to fix it somehow. It aged me drastically. Please keep me posted on your journey. I’ll let you know what the doctor says on Thursday.

What was your email again? I will email? I don’t see it in our exchanges.

Left with a deflated face and pockets of lost volume

Coursl

This is a terrible treatment unless you want to age yourself @rachael_frazierrn put profit over proper patient selection. I went in to discuss pore size and texture around my mouth and chin. Inquired about this or fraxel. She said Morpheus and I trusted her. Never wanted or needed contouring, defining or fat removal and that is what I got. She used wrong frequency and needle depth per company guidelines for someone with a thin face and skin as well as went outside of indication for chin with needle depth and frequency. She also didn’t prepare me properly on this procedure. Said retin a use was fine. Now I’m left with a deflated face and pockets of lost volume I can never get back throughout lower face. Also, left with skin that has lost collagen and damaged. Total Devastation
Then the plastic surgeon tried to gas light me saying I had sculptra and this was probably what I looked like before I had sculptra. Too bad that seems counterintuitive if this procedure is supposed to plump and build
Collagen. Also, I had had sculptra over a year and a half in two different areas. So
Dishonest of him and dismissive.

Also, look at my before photos like the day before the procedure where is my acne and my droopy jowls lol. I know you are someone from the office. I know the truth and that’s all the matters. This office is not ethical and they don’t prepare patients properly or vet patients properly. The settings also for my chin were the ones not indicated and someone who has thin skin and thin shouldn’t have had settings that high.

No one should ever use RF ablation on their face period. I was not the right candidate and I don’t think anyone really is. I think this has had a negative impact on so many people and the company as well as the treater don’t report and return calls on adverse reactions.

I’m so sorry that happened to you. Thank so much for sharing your experience with the Morpheus laser. I had an appointment scheduled for a treatment and have canceled it. Hopefully the damage that was done is not permanent. I wish you all the best in finding a solution.

I am so glad! If I can save people from doing such a terrible procedure than this post was worth it. The fat loss is permanent and so it the texture due to the heat settings and the resurfacing she did on top of the Morpheus. My skin barrier will hopefully recover but my derm said it could take months to a year. The scarring won’t ever go away but I am trying to be positive and do what I can to help strengthen my skin.

Thank you so much for this. My skin and face are like yours. I’ve also had sculptra so even if the “problem” is that it undoes sculptra, that’s still a pretty big problem.

How are you repairing the skin barrier? Like what product types, routine, etc.
