I’ve had acne scarring and some facial wrinkles in my thirties and have been pretty picking in choosing a micro-needling option. I was glad to see that Dr. Arunkumar is a facial plastic surgeon with impressive credentials (UCSF, Columbia), which speaks highly to his understanding of facial anatomy and physiology. I was impressed that I was also recommended to start a skin-lightening cream prior due to my specific skin type, and that Morpheus8 is both a micro needling and radio frequency type of treatment, which addresses both of my concerns.

The office was beautiful and serene, with great views of the bay. There was a variety of tea selections. Dr. Arunkumar, as well as his entire team/staff were extremely professional, kind, and attentive. Dr. Arunkumar reviewed my treatment goals with me and answered all of my questions. I was given a numbing cream with ample time for it to work prior. The procedure itself consisted of a bunch of tiny needle pricks which individually weren’t bad, but on sensitive areas like my forehead or near my nose/mouth things got a bit uncomfortable, so I was offered nitrous oxide which definitely helped. Recovery was pretty minimal. My face and neck were a bit red with a tiny amount of scabbing for a couple days, more so the first few hours after treatment. I wasn’t allowed to wash my face for the first 24 hours. I’ve had to keep out of the sun as much as possible the first couple weeks. Overall definitely not a bad recovery at all.

I’m writing this review after my first treatment and I think you’re supposed to notice the most benefit after the second monthly one, but I think my acne scarring has already lightened up a bit and my skin tone already looks improved. I’m excited to see my skin looking a lot clearer and hopefully to see some reduction in my wrinkles. Thank you Dr. Arunkumar for your amazing work and I’m excited to see how much even better my skin continues to look!
