Minus stars. I was completely traumatized by this experience. Please stay far away from this place. Definitely don't get laser here or you may get permanent damage. Think cheeks collapsing, facial fat loss, asymetry (after being specifically asked to not change the shape of my face damage (including what looks to be muscular) was most extensive on the right side, he is right-handed), poor texture and minor scarring. In 15 minutes this guy will ruin your skin forever. I also have permanent fat loss on the forehead and temple. Also, he may do a great job the first time and then just completely trash your face the second time one year later. The first time I didn't have damage however that was probably only because the numbing cream didn't work (very suspicious in of itself) and the pain was excruciating. The staff won't be forthcoming about whether there have been any issues in the past. You sign a paper saying that no matter what happens they have no legal liability. You can probably still sue if you have a case, statute of limitations for the province is 3 years. And, they don't go over potential risks or side effects AT ALL. Because it's Quebec you can't see any patient photographs (consenting of course) supposedly for patient protection but in the end for doctor protection since you cannot have any assurance of number of procedures or degree of success. Don't come here you are playing with fire. He will use you as a guinea pig to learn how to use his new equipment. He will ask for top dollar and tell you he is an expert but it could quickly be one of the worst decisions of your life. I thought that I was going in for a minor procedure but do not underestimate the damage you can get from laser gone wrong. In the end pain and blood are never good. And I had breakouts from all the skin trauma. After laser treatment every zit scars, leaving permanent indentations... The entire concept is flawed. I also recently read that we are born with all the elastin we will ever have and it declines over our lifetime. I had seen some impressive results in pictures but the risk is too high. Don't do it. You're welcome. I really wish that I would have read my review before I allowed this to happen.

So sorry you are going through this as well. I had IPL but same thing, fat loss, more on one side than the other. It's only been 8 weeks for me. The doctor that did my damage was Dr. Mulholland in Toronto. I also believe he was testing out his machine or did this on purpose in hopes I would run back for more treatments. How are you now?

Actually after my laser, my face collapsed as you can see in the photo. Then, it puffed up and got super chubby (probably massive inflammation) but my facial shape was altered from that day forward and I didn't look 'like myself'. Also the texture was off, like too hard. Stayed that way for a couple years even though I could see laser tracks in some places. Then the effects began to wear off and the permanent fat loss and asymmetry that remain correspond to the areas where you see the most extensive damage in the picture. Plus significantly at the temple and forehead, not shown.
Particularly problematic is how he caused the areas around the sides of my mouth to collapse, whereas everything fits together. When one area collapses other adjacent areas will suffer too.
I'll never look exactly 'like myself' the day of that procedure again, unless I risk a corrective procedure. I read on this site, that it can be done! I have very tentatively looked into facial fat transfer in the US. It’s the only place that I’ll ever consider a procedure again. More transparency, accountability and protection under the law. For now, I see weird looking asysmetrical indentations and scars for lack of a better word, some quite large that won't go away in the mirror everyday and that is difficult to live with on a daily basis. I most especially dislike being asymmetrical and oh, the fat loss. I mean massive fat loss. Like half my facial volume. Fat missing in weird places.
You won't be able to know the full extent of the permanent damage until a couple of years later, when the laser completely wears off. As a doctor he took an oath to first do no harm. Moreover, in my case he lied about his experience with Sciton pro fractional laser and this procedure. Be sure to take pictures to keep your options open in case you decide to sue at a later date. It doesn't matter what you signed. He lied. If you don't get punitive damages you might at least be awarded enough to correct your damage when the time comes and maybe cover some therapy. From my experience it is truly extremely traumatic and stressful to be 'disfigured' by a negligent dermatologist!
So, I'm still attractive just different and slightly asymetrical and scarred.
But really, I'm not ok with what I went through. We should be protected by law. But my sense is that the perpetrators have deep pockets and most victims are going through a stressful time and are often too embarrassed to even post their pictures.
There should be accountability and severe consequences, for the responsible parties not least because Dr. Khanna did not even bother to go over the potential risks. I had actually called to say that I was a having a bit of a breakout and maybe the laser would aggravate my skin. His office said that if cancelled inside of a 24-hour (?) window that I'd be charged anyways.
As you attempt to recover, I would try Vit C serum, low low dose tretinoin, hyaluronic acid (I add a drop of lavender oil), and AHA BHA and adequate sun protection over the next couple years -- be gentle to your skin though (!) -- anything proven to help your skin to build/ maintain collagen.

Welcome to the community, thank you for taking the time to share your personal experience and photos, it's appreciated and will be very helpful for others who are researching this procedure.
