(PICTURES MAY BE DISTURBING TO SOME PEOPLE) Hello, this is my first review on accutane so I hope I explain everything well. I'm 15 years old (16 in July), 124 pounds and I've been battling with extremely severe cystic acne for 2 years. I was prescribed with Accutane Roche 40mg by my dermatologist at the beginning of March. My acne has taken a toll on my confidence, and my emotions in general. I've had a few cortisone injections to a few on my right cheek but it didn't do much. It's been more than 4 months since I've been taking accutane 40mg and so far my acne has just gotten worse on my face and my back has stayed the same with no changes. I visited my dermatologist last week and he's upped the dosage to 60mg and I hope that'll do the trick and clear everything up because I'm fed up with my acne. Goodluck! I had cystic acne as well and I've been on 60mg for 4 months now. I don't have any pictures of the acne on my back but this weekend was the first time in years that I have worn a backless dress. This medication is a miracle, I feel like hopefulness helped me with the process.

Thank you so much for sharing because I know how difficult this is (had cystic acne for 12 yrs; cleared by accutane for 7, came back again at age 37. My cousin, who is 19 (male) did not see success with accutane until month 6; acne looked very similar to yours. Please hang in there!!! You probably don't realize it, but you help a lot of other people by sharing your story. Thank you.

And believe me, your pictures are not "disturbing" it's just temporary you will be cleared up in time.
