Latisse: WORTH IT if You Want Amazing Lashes!

Angel Montgomery
I'm 51 and people tell me literally ALL the time how beautiful my eyes are... I NEVER got that before LATISSE. I have been using Latisse faithfully for 2 year now and cannot imagine living without it! About 3 years ago as I approached 50, I started noticing my brows and lashes getting GRAY and SPARSER. Two years of trying every kind of mascara in the book and dyeing my eyelashes and brows was getting expensive, tedious and IMHO dangerous. When I turned 49 I decided to TRY Latisse based on reviews I read here. Sure BIMATAPROST (the generic name for Latisse) is a DRUG and should be used exactly according to instructions... but it's SAFE if you use it like its directed to be used AND IT WORKS. I wish I had a dollar for every one of my friends and acquaintances who has started using Latisse becauase they loved my results... I'd be a rich woman! After two years of regular use I only use it every-other-day or dont freak out should I happen to run out on a weekend and cant get to my provider to pick up more before Monday. Some TIPS that I wish I had known:
1) one drop will treat BOTH eyes and youll still have some to spare for your brows IF you throw away ALL the brushes but a few and TRIM THEM closely short and to just a few hairs each.
2) one 5ml bottle lasts me 2.5-3 months.
3) don't bother buying it if you aren't gonna sign up for the BRILLIANT DISTINCTIONS POINTS CLUB... every purchase of Latisse, Botox, Juvaderm and other things Allergan owns gets you $$$ credits towards a purchase of the item of your choice in the BD program. I got a Juvaderm treatment then when I went to replenish my Latisse found a $60 gift certificate towards my purcahase waiting for me! Be sure your provider enters your points for you.
4) dont believe the hype about it changing light colored eyes; I know lots of Latisse users and NO ONE has ever ever experienced this; that CAN happen to glaucoma patients who put whole drops INTO their eye but you arent doing that -- youre stroking it across your lash line and you shouldnt use so much that it "drips" or runs into your eye anyway...that stuff is too expensive to waste!
5) MORE is NOT better; your lashes will NOT grow longer or faster if you apply it more than once a day.
6) DONT GIVE UP -- you will not notice results for 6 weeks minimum; start out with a BEFORE pic and take another one at 6 weeks... it will encourage you to keep on with it! By 8 weeks OTHER people will be noticing.
7) yes the first two weeks my eyes did itch a week bit but I soldiered thru as it wasn't bad.
8) yes I think there may be the faintest purple line on my skin at my lash but its pretty and it accentuates my eyes like naturel lash liner LOL. (some folks experience this, some don't)
9) I have NO loss of "sub orbital fat" around my eyes as some people in some reviews say they have experienced. No one I know that uses Latisse (and I know A LOT) have experienced this either; perhaps the ones reporting this rare potential side effect are just noticing normal signs of aging? At any rate if I notice it there's a solution for it: fillers LOL.
Good luck, I cant say enough good things about this product! Hope your results are as satisfying and beautiful as mine.

Thank you for sharing your review with the RealSelf community and the tips! I'm sure users will find your advice helpful and encouraging! Do you happen to have any before/after pictures that you're willing to share?

i am constantly looking for another company to get this product from. i was with lashoutloudcanada/ careprost but they have had some kind of international flub up and no longer ships to the u.s. they recommended "blinq club". i did order from them but i am not sure they are good enough. yes my lashes have maintained and maybe gotten longer but i have always wanted to try latisse. i honestly believe my provider will not play this game. do have any advice on how else to get latisse or true bimatoprost? i been using for about two years also and i am so mad that careprost no longer is. help.

you can buy Careprost bimatoprost and use it for your lashes. I have been using for over 5 years and love it. $12 per bottle. Check out Alldaychemist.com

before and after photos would be helpful, otherwise how do we know that this isn't sneaky advertising?

I did have “before” and “afters” when I first started — moreso for MY personal comparison because I’m a pretty private person and didn’t necessarily want anyone saying “hey that’s Angel!”. I do admire the courage of folks who selflessly share their images! In my hesitation on sharing pics in any format I have since lost the pics due to several phone upgrades and lack of time to go through bajillions of multiple years worth of random photos of my dog and funny memes and pretty sunsets. Sorry, think what you want but I’m NOT GETTING PAID by nor do I represent Allergan. I’m just a satisfied Latisse user! Cheers!
