I had a successful facelift 20 yrs ago. In 2013 I had another facelift preformed by a different plastic surgeon which was not successful. The skin was not tight enough and one side had moreskin laxity than the other. He said he would do a revision but if I was considering having an upper and lower eyes done I should do them first. I trusted him and moved forward with having my upper and lower eyes done. Sadly he removed too much skin on the lower and it has been a nightmare. My lower lids drooped. I finally found an ocularplastic surgeon in NYC to work with me. I've had grafts to both lower areas under my eyes. I've had an additional surgery and I'm facing another surgery. This is all at great expense to me. The original surgeon has turned my case over to his insurance company and abandoned me to deal with his mistakes.
Now I'm searching for a facial plastic surgeon very skilled in doing facelift revisions. I must wait for my next lower eyelid surgery until the facelift revision is completed and healed.
I have a consult with a surgeon in northwest NJ. I would appreciate any feedback from others who may have experienced similar situations.

If I was not thrilled the face lift I received, I a The type of person who would not have let that plastic surgeon do any other procedure on me, probably including the revision therapy that you say both agreed you needed. I know that plastic surgeons like to fix their own mistakes, but I could no longer trust him or her. I feel the same way about a haircut, one bad haircut and I am gone. My husband and friends make fun of me for that. I am 100% loyal to my husband for 49 years, to my family, and all my friends which I have had forever...but I am not loyal to a PS or a hair dresser. I know I would pay for a revision from another plastic surgeon to fix what the other one did, as I could not trust the one who did not get it right. This was not just one little thing that you described.
However, I am in the majority and I am not blaming you at all, as you are the victim here. I am only telling you (and anyone reading this) to think about how much trust you can have for someone who did not get it right the fist time.

I would (and I think you should) contact your insurance company and tell them all the reasons you are going through all this surgery now, as now it is no longer an elective cosmetic issue, now it is a medical issue.
I suggest you ask your ocular plastic surgeon to guide you to a facial plastic surgeon that he would choose to operate on a member of his or her loved one. Some excellent ocular plastic surgeons do eyes AND face lifts, but not all. I would trust the doctors below, although they are not as close to you as the one in NYC. The information is enclosed.
If you do not want to come here, perhaps one of them could guide you to someone closer after hearing your story. Both are conservative and people travel far and wide to have them as their surgeon.
Basically, you can't go wrong with either of them.

I realize he is famous for his work with cancer patients and breast reconstruction, but I would trust him with my face and eyes. If he is not 100% confident that he can do the job, he will recommend someone who can. He has operated on me twice and other's whom I have recommended him to for breast reconstruction. He is lovely and his team is bar none. My cousin came from LA to have him repair her badly botched of nose job and he felt the surgery was out of his expertise and recommend her so someone in New Hampshire. She took his advice and was thrilled with her outcome.

Good luck.

I wish you the very best and I am terribly sorry you have been through so much. I had botched up surgery many years ago, and I wrote a letter to the plastic surgeon who botched me up and copied it to the head CEO of the hospital, describing in graphic detail my physical and emotional plight. This plastic surgeon I am talking about was and still is, the head of reconstructive and plastic surgery at a major teaching hospital in D.C. I demanded that I be refunded for his surgery as I had to go elsewhere to have it redone, and told them the name of the plastic surgeon that I went to that fixed up the botched job. Well, the surgeon and hospital must have thought I would file a law suit against them and contacted me immediately with apologies. I received a full refund for that surgery with a letter of apology and wishing me well. I had no intention of suing or of letting that plastic surgeon get away with what he did. I did not ask to be refunded for the anesthesia, ONLY what the plastic surgeon had done.

How did your revision surgeries turn out?
April 16, 2017
It is scheduled for May 9. I hope it goes well. I chose a facial only plastic surgeon.

So sorry to read of the problems and hope at least that the surgeon gave you your money back. Did he have the "FACS" after his name as a credential? This is supposed to help. For what its worth you don't look bad IMO but you also do not look like a lady should after a good FL. Wishing you the best on May 4.

It's not always easy when you're financially invested with the surgeon.
Unfortunately him refunding my money would not cover the expenses I've incurred to have the revisions on both the eyes and the facelift. I'm out of pocket at this point over $40,000. He knows the procedures did not go well. It's with his insurance company.

It most certainly is not easy for most people to pay out of pocket for cosmetic surgery. It is even worse when someone has to pay for someone else's botched up job. I hope you get some reimbursement for all that you have gone through. And I wish you a full and speedy recovery.

Facelift revision

May 9 I had a deep plane facelift revision preformed by Dr. Mark Glasgold, Highland Park, N.J. The surgical process went well. Presently there's a lot of swelling and bruising which is expected. As the healing process continues I will update.

Ectropion

tne14
Dr Glasgold used Resytalane to fill the hollow areas under the eyes caused by the severe ectropion which occurred due to a lower blepharoplasty performed by a PS in Montclair. It is hoped this will reduce the appearance of the ectropion. I had already received grafts under both eyes by Dr. Boaz Lissauer, NYC and continue to work with him and Dr. Glasgold. There will be another surgery sometime this summer or fall by Dr. Lissauer to try and correct the remaining ectropion.
Both doctors, Dr. Mark Glasgold and Dr. Lissauer are tops in their fields. They are working together to give me the best outcome and I am grateful to both.
Dr. Mark Glasgold is kind and honest which is appreciated after all I've experienced. He is not the "jack of all trades" surgeon. He does only faces.

My heart goes out to you! Looks like the volume from restylane will really help once it smooths out.

How are you doing now?.

I have gone through almost the same thing!

I'm doing well with the recent facelift revision. I'm waiting to have surgery on the lower eye lids from the botched blepharoplasty. My lower lid droops because he removed too much skin. I've had grafts under both lids. Hopefully in August the ocularplastic surgeon will try to correct the drooping lower lid. He hopes to get some improvement.
It's been a nightmare.
How did you do with your eyelids?

I wish you the best. I had a facelift 2 1/2 years ago by Dr. Michael Goden in Richmond Va. and did not work I was worse off then before I had the facelift. I just went through my second one with the best PS Dr. Michael Bridges in Midlothian Va. I am so pleased and happy. The first Dr. said he would redo for a price I would not let him touch my face again..one mistake was enough.. I guess I am lucky because I had no damage just didn`t work...Dr. Bridges is the best and people come from all over to see him...I am thankful I got him...

The eye isnt bad- I went thru the same thing-No one could fix it-just a lot for suffering- I think with makeup and some botox-maybe a face peel for skin- you would look perfect- It is difficult to correct even by the best. perhaps a little fat to fill out some uneven facial areas- I would not go near the eyes!
