You Can’t Go Wrong with Dr. Kohan

Office Aesthetic
The office itself is beautiful and calming. Soft music plays in the lobby, which overlooks the courtyard from the terrace level just off Rodeo Drive. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere feels peaceful and luxurious.
The Work
Dr. Kohan is truly a master of his craft. I underwent several procedures for a MMO as a massive weight loss patient. Even at just three weeks post-op, my incision lines are beautiful. My tummy tuck scar is low enough to stay hidden and is incredibly precise. His attention to detail is remarkable. My belly button is small and natural-looking rather than the obvious post-tummy tuck look you see. Because I had significant excess skin on my back, Dr. Kohan extended the breast lift to address that area as well. Dr. Kohan is not just a surgeon, he's an artist. I trust him completely, and I'm so glad I chose him!

Beyond being a highly skilled surgeon, Dr. Kohan is one of the kindest surgeons I've ever met.
Surgeons are not always known for their warm bedside manner, but Dr. Kohan genuinely cares about his patients. At my pre-op appointment, he carefully marked my body and explained exactly what he planned to do. The process was interactive, and he welcomed all of my questions. After surgery, he personally checked on me in recovery and gave me two phone numbers where I could reach him directly if I had any concerns. I didn't need to reach him, but I know if I had to utilize the numbers he would have responded ASAP. I've seen him weekly since surgery, and every visit reinforces how knowledgeable, attentive, and compassionate he is. I truly trust him with my life!
Myria - Surgery Coordinator Extraordinaire
Myria is the surgery coordinator, but she's also the heart and mom of the office. From the moment I submitted my consultation request through my recovery, she has been there every step of the way. Even three weeks post-op, I still text her questions almost daily. She goes above and beyond, even responding to me during the evenings and/or weekends. I live out of town, so I initially chose a virtual consultation. Myria had Dr. Kohan review my photos and coordinated everything. Their consultations were free, which was nice after spending hundreds of dollars on consultations with other surgeons I ultimately didn't choose. As a massive weight loss patient, I had heard many differing opinions from other surgeons. Myria patiently explained why Dr. Kohan recommended certain procedures over others.
Most of our communication is done by text, which I love because I hate phone calls. Once my surgical plan was finalized and financing was in place, I paid my deposit and had surgery two weeks later. You're not required to have surgery so soon, that's just what worked best for me!
Myria is a tiny but mighty powerhouse who keeps the office running like a well-oiled machine. She even stayed with me during pre-op, reassuring me that everything would be okay. After I returned home, I struggled to find local hyperbaric oxygen therapy placed and Myria even researched options for me. She is efficient, caring, and incredibly dedicated.
Christina - Surgical Nurse
Tina was with me before, during, and after surgery. She is incredibly kind and helped keep me calm by chatting with me before the procedure. When I woke up, she was right there asking how I felt. She offered me applesauce, called my family back once I was awake enough, and personally wheeled me to the car.
Catherine
Although I haven't met Cat in person, she has been incredibly helpful. She handled paperwork for my employer, answered medication questions, called in additional pain medication when needed, and followed up to make sure I was able to obtain my prescriptions once I returned home.
Nurse Leslie
Leslie has been the nurse at all of my post-op appointments, and she is wonderful. She is kind, patient, and highly knowledgeable. Early in recovery, my stamina was very limited, and when she removed my sutures, she let me take breaks and even let me sit when I felt dizzy while removing the sutures.
Tanya - Anesthesiologist
She was funny, knowledgeable, and compassionate. I told her that I have severe anxiety about surgery, and she made sure I received medication before we walked to the OR. She also gave me her personal number in case I had medication-related questions.
Sophia
Sophia is the friendly face who greets you when you arrive. Since I fly in from out of town, she has worked with me to schedule appointments around my flights, which has been incredibly helpful.
Final Thoughts
Dr. Kohan and his team have exceeded my expectations in every way. Their skill, professionalism, responsiveness, and genuine compassion are unmatched. I had someone there to support me every step of the way and they continue to. If you are considering surgery with Dr. Kohan, I can honestly say that I trusted him with my life, and I would do it all over again.
