Interesting how perspective can change...
By now I had hoped and believed that the complications would have improved but unfortunately they have not. My right breast has developed capsular contracture and I unfortunately can’t afford to get it fixed so I’ve hurt almost every day since my surgery. My sides where the lipo was are still discolored. A consult with another plastic surgeon revealed that this was likely due to how the cannula was held during the procedure. I still have zero feeling between my belly button and pubic bone. I also have a massive pooch that I have had CT scans of and was told it’s scar tissue and not fat (like I was told). So exercising will not make it go away. I also have this constant feeling like I’m wearing a fanny pack (not sure how else to describe it). I continue to have moderate to severe abdominal pain when I exercise my abdomen. Consult said it was due to adhesions. My belly button looks a bit scary. Every doc looks at me shocked when they see it. I have a knot of something above it that is tender when I touch it but no one knows what it is. I continue to like my overall look (as long as I have clothes on) and I like that my core feels much more stable. I wish I would have gone smaller on the implants and I wish I had gotten the surgery on the mainland so that I could afford to get my capsular contracture fixed or maybe avoided these complications altogether.
7 months post op mommy make over
I had my final lipo back in April and it went well. The swelling has finally gone down enough for me to start really being able to see the results. I did however have a few complications along the way. One complication was that my belly button kept closing up. We tried everything to keep it from closing but eventually I had to get it revised. I have a little pooch between my belly button and pubic bone that has seemed to slowly go down over time. I still have zero sensation between my belly button and pubic bone. My doc says that should get better over time. I do still have soreness in my abs and the skin on my sides are till sore and lumpy from the lipo but I see steady improvement. The biggest issue I’ve had though began a few weeks ago. I suddenly developed swelling and pain in my right breast. Because it’s been so long since the surgery it seemed unlikely to be a capsular contracture or even a seroma or hematoma. I ended up going to the ER to get a CT scan and x-ray. The CT scan showed fluid buildup underneath my implant. My doctor had a great idea of draining it through my armpit so as not to leave a scar. Sure enough it WAS a hematoma. Still waiting to see if there is any infection however the doctor has me on antibiotics regardless. I have a drain in until next Thursday and hopefully this will resolve and not come back! We still don’t know what caused it so that leaves me a bit worried. I had started back up with my regular HIIT exercises when the swelling started. Now I’m having to take it easy again. Overall I am thrilled with my new body! I love trying on clothes now and discovering new looks. I love not having to suck in my stomach so people don’t ask me if I’m pregnant! I feel stronger too and more stable. Also, I can do jumping jacks now without leaking urine! Lol! Though I honestly wouldn’t go though it again I do think the results were worth it. If you are looking for an experienced and talented cosmetic surgeon in Hawaii I highly recommend Dr Larry Schlesinger and his team!
3 weeks post mommy makeover
Things have gotten much better in just the last 48 hours for some reason. I’ve been able to stand up straight now though my abdomen is very tight still. My incisions have started to heal and so far no infections! My belly button is raw and itchy but I think the doc did a great job on it! I’m still very swollen and so I’m still far from being able to see my final results. Also, I still have not had the lipo in my abdomen yet. My surgeon waits 3 months post TT before doing the lipo so I still have a lot of fat in my upper and lower abdomen as well as swelling. My sides and back are “lumpy” and still very sore. This will get smoother over time and with the ultrasound therapy. I’m still sleeping in the recliner because I can’t get comfortable on my back in bed. Overall, I’m doing much much better and have only had a few meltdowns in the last two weeks, lol. I thought I’d go ahead and post some 3-week post op pics to show the progression. But this will not be the final results!
