Getting better
Just an update to say that the treatment with the wound clinic over the past 2 months is going really well and it has nearly fully healed , I am unbelievably grateful to them , they were treating me three times a week but now I only have to go once a week
My Nightmare at the May Clinik Istanbul
Hi everyone this is my story, I am going to write as detailed as I can
So on march 14th I flew to Istanbul from the uk to the may clinic for surgery with dr yusuf acar, I was having a boob reduction, tummy tuck with 360 lipo, muscle repair and a thigh lift , 3 weeks previous my daughter had gone over and had a mummy make over , had fantastic results and couldn’t praise them enough, I was going on my own and after seeing her results , I had no fears whatsoever, arrived into Istanbul at midnight on the 24th got picked up from the airport and took straight to the hospital for blood and covid tests again pretty straight forward I was tired and by the time they did the tests ( the hospital was not private by the way I was there with everyone waiting to be seen in A&E I just got seen quickly) and took me to my hotel it was 3am I was being picked up 3 hours later at 6 am to go to the hospital for surgery, I arrived at the hospital Ayça my coordinator was there and she took me to a private room , this is where photographers was there to take my before pics whilst they were doing that Ayça asked for the money for the surgery , I paid the money , she then told me that they had the blood tests back and I was hiv positive , I looked up in shock and said me I can’t be I’ve only slept with one person I don’t do drugs to which she replied , oh did you not know , I said no can you check that you haven’t made a mistake, at this point dr acar came in and started drawing on me I wasn’t taking any notice as I was still in shock over the hiv positive result, and kept trying to ask them questions but they didn’t understand, dr acar said it was no problem it was early stages and I can still have the surgery it will just take longer, fast forward 9 hours I am waking up surgery is done , I don’t really remember much I remember feeling very sick asking for a bowl to puke but noone fetched one so I puked all over the bed, stayed in the hospital for 2 nights food was diabolical and inedible, so just had water the whole time , felt really ashamed that anytime anyone came in they put on 3 sets of gloves because of me being hiv positive, and literally just cried the whole time , when Ayca came to say I was going to the hotel I asked did you double check my bloods and she said yes and same results the hotel was fine I wasn’t happy it was twin beds as the 1 night pre surgery my room had a big kingsize bed , the nurse came to see me at the hotel she removed my plasters of the middle area of my tummy tuck scar straight away and I noticed it was all scabby I asked was it okay she said it was fine she never removed any other plasters from my thighs boobs etc just the one from my midddle area only of my tummy tuck scar , I spent a very miserable 7 nights at the hotel with regards to thinking I was hiv positive, I informed my boss I was hiv positive, prayed I hadn’t passed it to my grandchildren etc and just basically cried and couldn’t sleep, couldn’t wait to get home , the nurse came every day to put cream on the scabby area of my tummy tuck scar she would take pictures of it every day always saying it was fine , the day before I was due to come home I went back to the hospital to see dr acar , again all the photographers were there to take pictures they removed all the plasters this time dr acar looked at my tummy and said have you smoked your ecig at all I said a few puffs he then said that is why my tummy tuck scar is like that I still thought nothing of it went back to the hotel and went home the following morning I was advised from dr acar to put fucidin cream on my tummy tuck scar that was it , as soon as I got back to the uk I went to hospital and to my doctor and got tested at both places for hiv , both tests came back negative, I informed the may clinic of this and they just said that’s great , fast forward 5 weeks I am still putting cream on my scar but it is not getting any better it is getting worse , the nurse who I am in contact with via what’s app just keeps telling me to keep putting the cream on , the scar is very black and my other half said it looks dead I put a picture on a group on Facebook for tummy tucks and there were lots of comments to say it looked like necrosis, I had never heard of it so Googled it and shit myself, I asked the nurse on WhatsApp do I have necrosis and she said the dr said yes but not much it will heal just keep putting the cream on so I did again it just got worse and about 10 weeks post op I ended up in A&E twice they eventually transferred me to the wound clinic where I now go three times a week and have it packed and it is finally getting better , it is going to take months but at least someone is helping me and I am not alone with it anymore I ended up getting annoyed with the nurse saying it was ridiculous that there answer was put cream on it when I clearly needed help with it and they just stopped replying I am gonna put the pics up in order so you can see how it progressed , sorry it’s such a long post and well done if you read to the end
