Kagan Doll 100% Satisfied!
I'm a 41 Year Old Mother of 5 Children. Needless to say, my childbearing years had left me a little unsatisfied with my body. I decided, for once, to do something for me :-). Well, someone I knew had also went to Jolie Surgery Center a couple years ago and had a good experience. I'm glad I didn't go off the reviews, but with personal experience. She actually was worked on by Dr. Valls and loved her results. I decided to look thru the doctors and their work and decide for myself who I wanted to go with. I initially wanted Dr. Fisher, but had a time constraint to loose the weight he wanted his patients to have before he would work on me, so thru conversation with my initial coordinator Alina, I decided to look closer into Dr. Kagan, to which, I am sooo happy I did. Needless to say, I put countless hours into research for both the procedure, the doctor, and the recovery process and what I would need. I was still beyond nervous. Either way, I traveled from NC to Miami and on site, I was scared. LOL. It literally is in a strip mall next door to 2 large cosmetic facilities. Sometimes bigger isn't better. I looked around a bit more though, and there are lots of strip mall surgery centers down there. Makes sense though. Florida is one of largest meccas of plastic surgery, so they are on every corner as you would see a gas station. The smaller centers don't mean they are any less qualified or professional, you are just not paying for the glitze and glamour of the larger buildings and they give you the same quality work at a lower price. Needless to say, I got there Saturday and had a post op with the nurses who were not only beautiful, but nice and very willing to answer your questions. They were also very patient. The facility manager Laing also came out that day and gave me some good advice on how to get better quickly after my procedure. She was awesome and made sure that you didn't feel like just a chart number, but a person who is being taken care of like family. I left with a list of dos and don'ts for the day before surgery. I was also advised to be there at 6. My only issue was there was a miscommunication about where to meet for that early morning start up. I got there at 6 and the Jolie Center was not open, nor was there anyone there to answer the phone, but 15 minutes prior, I received from the anesthesia team making sure I was on the way. 2 doors down from Jolie there is a place called Care 4 Hair, that is where they were waiting for me. I tried calling the number back they called me from and it kept going to voicemail. Needless to say, I was more than annoyed. They called me back at about 620 and let me know where to go exactly. They more than made up for it when I got inside with a warm welcome and an apology for the miscommunication. I was made to feel comfortable and reassured about the procedure and the care I was in. Then I got to meet the handsome and sweet Dr. Kagan. He reassured my concerns and let me know he would make sure I felt beautiful when he was done and he delivered!!! When I woke up I was in the recovery room and felt great. A little discomfort, but nothing else really. I am sure I was still hopped up on meds. LOL. Even so, the nurses were sweet and and gave me some gatorade and water. Several cups lol. Not once did they make it seem as though I was bothering them or an inconvenience. Now I can say, they lady in the curtain on one side of me was having a little more difficulty coming off of her anesthesia. She needed more attention than I did, so I patiently waited my turn until they were done with her before I started asking for things. Now the lady on the other side of me was being a little rude and yelling for pain meds while they were assisting the one girl. I finally told her, hey, they are assisting the lady next to me right now that is in a little more distress than either you or I so chill and let them finish. I asked her what she had done and she said a tummy tuck, so I politely let her know I just had a tummy tuck and a breast lift and I was feeling just fine so she couldn't be that bad off. I don't like rude people. So for those people who commented they were rude were probably rude to them. I seen it first hand. They are all human. You treat people the way you want to be treated. But anyways, I didn't stay at a recovery house. Instead my aunt and other mother came and cared for me. Be clear of the Walmart on 79th street. They lost my prescription that night we tried to get it filled and found it the next morning, but they wouldn't fill the pain meds. The Walgreens on 79th street did have the pain meds so I would advise to try them first when looking for somewhere to fill you meds if you are not staying in a recovery house and don't know the area. Luckily, Dr. Kagan did some work on my sister who went with me and I was able to share her antibiotics till we could get to walmart that next day. As much as you are uncomfortable, WALK. Drink plenty of water and eat plenty of pineapples!! It helps the healing. I would say, keep pain meds pumping every 4 hours for at least the first 4 days. They definitely help. But anyways, I stayed for 7 days after the procedure and I seen Dr. Kagan 2 times before I left. He does his best to come see you and answer his questions, but it is a busy clinic, so trust me, he gets plenty of practice in. When I left he made sure to let me know if there are any questions after I left to feel free to contact him and the clinic. I am still swollen 9 days post op and am not ok to post any pics online like that. When the swelling goes down I will definitely post some before and afters. I still have my drains and plan on going to the urgent care to have them removed. So far my boobs are sitting beautifully and stomach is flat with slight swelling at the bottom. My incision line looks like it is in a great place. I am thinking about going back for a round 2 for lipo suction in my back and carve more of a waist, but I don't know as of yet due to the fact that the swelling is still there. I will let you guys know later if I decide to go back and do so. Once I get the drains out I will take the before and afters with an outfit I tried on the day before the surgery and post those. I hope this review helps someone. If you have any question, feel free to ask. #KaganDoll
