Five weeks and still recovering
hiddenmommyOctober 16, 2018
WORTH IT$7,500
Today I reached my five week mark. Here are my positives and negatives of my current state:
POSITIVE:
1. I am no longer covered in bruises
2. I have done my first 10 days of Embrace on my tummy tuck scar
3. The girls from the office still call me to give me advice on my wounds
4. My nipples look nice
5. I am a little less swollen
NEGATIVES
1. I have open wounds on both breasts! That really sucks. I am seeing a wound specialist tomorrow.
2. I can’t start embrace on breast because of opened wounds
3. My flanks are super stiff still
4. I still have to sleep facing up!
5. My breasts are not symmetrical ( they were not before either but I notice it more now)
6. I worry my belly button will have a bad scar
THINGS I WISH I KNEW BEFORE:
1. Research best healing strategies BEFORE your surgery - for example : I learned that allowing scabs to form cause more scars. Keeping wound moist enhances healing- do you own research.
2. Have a chat wit your local primary physical about the trip and surgery and plan for something going wrong and having a local support. In case something happens to your wound.
3. Have a scar treatment plan before the surgery
4. Healing takes forever!

Slowly improving
hiddenmommyOctober 8, 2018
I am two day from my four weeks mark. My body is still quite bruised up and my boobs still healing. The wound on one boob is getting better and I am just happy I was able o make the opening on the other one stop getting worse. I change my dressings two to three times a day, and it suck not being ale to start any scar treatment because the wound is so opened. On a good note: I started embrace on my tummy tuck scar. My hip scar was quite raised so I hope it works. They say embrace is good to start between week two and four and I am now on my week four and sad I won’t be able to start it on my breasts.

Opened wound three weeks mark
hiddenmommyOctober 4, 2018
They say each body heals differently and they are right! I still have loads of healing to do. My big thing this week was that my wound on my breast lift opened last Saturday, and it was opening more and more each day. I read up and this appears to happen in 10% of the cases. The team of Dr. Arenas: Liz and Vero kept in touch and told me not to worry but I would rather be proactive. So I went to my primary physician and I am on antibiotics. I am also gonna see a wound care doctor. So far, still wearing my compression garment. Today I looked at my photos from before and wow! Even though I am all bruised up, and my wound is worrying me sick- I love my new boobs.

Oh no I am sorry to hear that. I am scheduled with Dr Arenas in dec and after seeing what you are going through makes me that much more scared to go through with my procedures. So would you not recommend this surgeon?..... hope you finish healing very soon

THANKS FOR ASKING! I spent the last four weeks going weekly to a wound care specialist. Now FINALLY my wound are healed. I have done three sets of embrace on my tummy tuck and hope to start my embrace on my breasts soon. The only pain I have now is on my waist and sides of the body - the skin is so tight that it hurst to get up from a sitting position. My stomach seems to still be swollen... good luck on your surgery!
