Dr Lara is an Artist and His Staff Are Amazing!

I had a breast lollipop lift with augmentation (450 over the muscle), extended TT, arm lift, and liposculpting with BBL. I started researching a MMO 3 years ago, but they are just so expensive in the states (over 3 times the cost of dr Lara!) 1 year ago I had a gastric sleeve done in Mexico so it got me thinking I could do my plastics there as well. I am so glad I did! I consulted with several surgeons in both The US and Mexico, and based on cost and reviews from past patients and ability to perform everything I wanted done at once, decided on Dr Lara. Some of the surgeons seemed to have their own agenda- pushing a lower body lift and then later my upper half, or simply did not want to do everything at once. Dr Lara, who is a board certified plastic surgeon, was able to give me everything in one surgery. The consult was free and easy- I simply sent pictures of myself with a description of my medical history and what I wanted done, and dr Lara sent me a breakdown of what he would do (I originally thought I wanted a 360 TT but he didn’t think it was necessary and he was absolutely right!) with the cost and everything. They also included instructions to follow for me planning up to my surgery as well as scripts for some lab work to be done ahead of time to make sure there would be no hidden surprises (basic BMP, CBC, etc). My husband was very nervous for me to go to Tijuana especially with political unrest being all over the news. Dr Lara’s staff was responsive and open to our concerns, and would respond to my multiple emails within hours of me sending them (I always got a response the same day!), whether it was a question about border crossing or what type of implants I would be getting. From the moment I landed in San Diego I had someone there holding my hand! One of dr Lara’s nurses picked me up from the airport, drove me across the border, and escorted me into the hotel to make sure I got checked in okay. They then picks me up and took me around the corner to dr Lara’s office for an in person consult and some final pre screening such as an ekg before taking me back to my hotel. The next morning, his staff again picked me up and brought me to his office/surgery center where they prepped me for surgery (as a registered nurse myself I can appreciate the cleanliness of the facility, the state of the art equipment, and the proper and professional manner of his staff- his nurse was probably the best IV start I’ve ever had- I barely felt it). They explained what type of anesthesia they were going to use before hand (IV sedation followed by a spinal) and for the first time ever I woke up from a surgery alert, and with absolutely NO nausea, and pretty much NO pain. I am a bit appalled by the postings I see on social media of people using walkers to get around, sleeping in recliners, and pretty much having a really hard recovery. From day 0, I have had almost no pain (if I were to rate it- 0-2 out of ten at all times since my surgery), and I attribute it to my dr being proactive on his aftercare. I had a pain pump that I left the surgery center with and round the clock timed pain meds and antibiotics for the first 7-10 days after surgery. At 10 days post op right now I have been on no pain meds for over 24 hours and have no pain. Since surgery I have walked at the beach boardwalk twice for several hours, done stairs, and went shopping. From the moment I walked in his office, dr Lara listened carefully to my questions and concerns and took his time explaining his answers to me, and that has not changed since surgery. I am very very very happy with my results! He is an absolute artist! He was able to give me the Barbie body I wanted (lifted, and perky up top, skinny arms, tiny waist, and he did really nice lipo shaping even where I wouldn’t have thought to give me the nice butt I’ve always wanted). I have absolutely no negative things to report for dr Lara- great results, great care, no pain, great bedside manner. I would recommend him without reservation to anyone!
