Mommy Makeover with Dr. Kagan at Avana
$7,200
After years of research and going back and forth I FINALLY decided it was time. I’ve put my body through so much and I’m not happy with what I see when I look in the mirror. It doesn’t match who I feel I am on the inside. After combing through many reviews, I chose to schedule my procedure with Dr. Kagan. He will be performing a breast lift with saline implants, extended tummy tuck with muscle repair, and lipo to the sides (to achieve the best result with the tummy tuck) on 1/23/2019. I’m extremely nervous. I lost 60 lbs and I’ve settled at between 170-174 lbs and I think this is as good as it’s gonna get (I’m 5’3”). Communication was good at first with the staff, it kind of got spotty, but more recently I’ve been in more contact with them as my surgery date draws closer. I’ve already begun packing and purchasing items I will need. My flight, hotel, and car rental have all been secured. I fly out to Miami in 3 days! I’ve attached a few before photos. I can’t believe I’m really doing this!

Made it to Miami!
It was a busy day and I’m running on two hours of sleep, but we made it! Ate some yummy Latin food and went for a walk and enjoyed the sun. Bought a few things for our room. Tomorrow is my preop and I’m super excited to meet Dr. Kagan. I’ve heard nothing but great things! I just want to know exactly what’s going to happen.

Pre op paperwork
So I went in this morning to do my pre-op paperwork. I thought I would be meeting with Dr. Kagan today but my coordinator explained I’d be meeting with him before surgery tomorrow. I was disappointed, but as long as we do get to speak and I have my questions answered that’s fine with me. Avana is very clean and professional. I was surprised that I wasn’t told about needing a binder until today. It cost me $125 because I jut decided to buy the one they sell. I’m too tired and anxious to shop around for one at this point. I also paid $50 for two drug tests; one test for today and one for tomorrow. I’m not worried about that because I know I’ll pass that and the pregnancy test with flying colors. I don’t even drink!!! There was previously an issue with my surgery date and it had to be rescheduled, resulting in me having to cancel and reschedule my flight. I submitted a claim through my flight insurance, but I was able to discuss possible credit toward my deposit or my BBL in 6 months should I not get my money back for the canceled flight. That is fine by me! As long as I’m compensated somehow. I think that was extremely fair. Vanessa just called me and told me to be at the surgery center at 1030. Nothing to eat or drink after midnight and she said to drink lots of fluids today!!! I can’t believe it. In less than 24 hours I’ll be one step closer to my dream body!

I was soooo excited to have Dr Kagan do my B.R. and I ultimately added a TT and some Lipo, but stupid BCBS kept fighting me, and by the time I gave up the fight, Dr Kagan retired (that’s what I was told) and, Surprise! moved from Chicago to Florida. I was so po’d, but determined to have this happen, so I found (in “Chicago Checkbook”) a Dr. Jejurikar, who had 11 other doctor recommendations. Not cheap, but very, very, VERY good. Excellent benefits of his surgical skills. Fantastic surgeon. I think he wishes he could replicate my amazing results every time. I do as well. I can never thank him enough for his expertise. Ever. Ever....
Thank you, thank you, Dr Jejurikar

I am scheduled for my tummy tuck on March 19th what kind of drug tests did you have to do I was never told of this from my PS I do need an EKG becuase I just turned 50 and some other blood work

January 30, 2019
Well everyone gets drug tested or signs paperwork saying they don’t use drugs. Certain drugs can interfere with anesthesia, I’m pretty sure. So does nicotine. So they will test you or have you sign something so that if you die it’s not their fault basically. I don’t use drugs so it didn’t matter to me. You have to talk to your PS. I’m only sharing my experience with Dr. Kagan at Avana.
