8 week post op

Well....sent my 8 wk pics off to my surgeons eagerly awaiting the news that I no longet have to wear my faja. The last 4 nights Ive woken after an hour or so with what feels like pressure from my faja unbearable. So much so that I’ve had to remove my faja there and then. Wot the hell? Wots all this about? On top of this I heard back from my surgeons informing me that I still have quite a lot of swelling and need to wear my faja for another 2 to 3 weeks!! Needless to say I spent the rest of that day in tears.

Belly button

Here is my happy belly button! Still applying cream, gauze and tape daily but so close to incision looking fully closed. Hey wait a minute!......can I see a waist line?? Finally! Woo hooo! Totally can’t wait to go to bed without my faja on, oh to feel sexy again.

5 weeks post op

Love watching my results come in. Scars looking great after 1 week of scar therapy.....can only get better. So thrilled with my results. 3 more weeks of wearing compression garment 23/7. Smaller size on the way as I suspect I’ll b like many of you women and choose to wear it a little longer. Feel quite naked with out it and a little vulnerable. Had concerns with VP as coughing in forbidden!.....and we all know I suffered 3 weeks of coughing with my asthma attack/chest infection but any swelling is subsiding rapidly now. For those of you who don’t know coughing is super damaging to broken pelvic floor muscles......and even more so to ones that are recovering from corrective surgery as they are at risk of prolapsing. Fingers crossed.

As an international patient I cannot recommend Dr Alex Campbell and Dra Carolina Restrepo from Premium Care plastic Surgery enough. From airport pickup and drop off to accomodation in recovery suite, daily lymphetic massages, daily visits from nursing staff including a nurse who stays with you for the first 24hrs, 24 hr access to surgeons to the expertise and talent from the actual surgeons themselves who btw have the most amazing and caring bedside manner. Very competitive with customised packages. My husband was fully involved and was made to feel included and Dr Campbell was more than happy to answer all of his questions as well. We elected to stay in an apartment in the vicinity to have a little more privacy and the nurses were more than happy to visit us there. Don’t let a foreign country scare you off as the staff are bilingual and accompany you to any external appointments. The hospital staff are professional and the care I received was as good as anywhere. Dr Restrepo even had a pulmonary specialist come to their offices to assess my asthma which was over and above what they needed to do. There is a genuine care from both Dr Campbell and Dr Restrepo as well as all the staff. Results? Amazing! All expectations exceeded. Premium Care have a brilliant website so go take peek.
