Well....sent my 8 wk pics off to my surgeons eagerly awaiting the news that I no longet have to wear my faja. The last 4 nights Ive woken after an hour or so with what feels like pressure from my faja unbearable. So much so that I’ve had to remove my faja there and then. Wot the hell? Wots all this about? On top of this I heard back from my surgeons informing me that I still have quite a lot of swelling and need to wear my faja for another 2 to 3 weeks!! Needless to say I spent the rest of that day in tears.

Sorry you’re so frustrated hun maybe you can just loosen the faja just a tiny bit so you still have compression but it doesn’t hurt you and wake you at night. Good luck sweetie! Hope the next few weeks goes by super fast

U know it’s really weird. I’ve worn my faja for almost the full 8 weeks 23/7 with out this issue. I’m even wearing my biggest faja at night....which btw is two sizes bigger then the one I wear during the day. It’s like my tolerance for laying down at night in compression has vanished. Thanks for yr support md.....so nice to have a place to turn to without judgement xx

Rosey, when you’re sleeping, are you laying flat or recliner position with feet up? I’m still sleeping in the recliner. I never had the Faja either, just a abdominal binder. My swelling is when I’m up at work around hour 8 or 9. I wonder if the faja is causing to much compression on your tissues actually leading to a delayed edema (tissue swelling). Hang in there, you still look amazing my friend!!!

Hmmmmm maybe yr onto something there! I’m sleeping flat, tonight I’ll recline with pillows putting my feet up and see how it goes. Definatly suffering a delayed edema....hence my surgeon requesting I wear compression for another 2 to 3 weeks. Fingers crossed...and toes xx

Well I hope it works for you. I find laying flat or stAnding for long periods increases my swelling. XX

I really enjoy reading your posts. I go for surgery in December and I would like to know if you stayed in the recovery suites or your own hotel? Also, did you purchase everything there if not what did you bring with you? Lastly, would you have purchased a 3rd smaller faja while in Cartagena if you would have known?

Love watching my results come in. Scars looking great after 1 week of scar therapy.....can only get better. So thrilled with my results. 3 more weeks of wearing compression garment 23/7. Smaller size on the way as I suspect I’ll b like many of you women and choose to wear it a little longer. Feel quite naked with out it and a little vulnerable. Had concerns with VP as coughing in forbidden!.....and we all know I suffered 3 weeks of coughing with my asthma attack/chest infection but any swelling is subsiding rapidly now. For those of you who don’t know coughing is super damaging to broken pelvic floor muscles......and even more so to ones that are recovering from corrective surgery as they are at risk of prolapsing. Fingers crossed.

Thank you. Just need my waistline back now. Belly button is pretty cute, will post a pic next time it’s uncovered. Have had to do a little wound care on it but it’s almost cleared now.
