I have been planning this operation for a long time but never managed to lose weight. I am prediabetic and had enough of the big belly and decided to go under. I have seen 8 doctors before making my mind and lots of searches as I am a very detail oriented person and I am described as not easy to please. I don’t normally make reviews but knowing my own journey where I needed advises, facts to make my mind I decided to make this review in the hope that it helps other ladies who are in the same position as me.
The operation took 5 hours, I had breast reduction and muscle repair with tummy tuck. It also involved slight lipo at my back to define the tummy tuck. I won’t call the whole thing painful but it involves a lot of discomfort. So be ready to be patient after the surgery. I am about to complete week three, no regrets whatsoever vice versa glad to have it done. Only regret it that I wish I had exercised and had stronger muscles which d become handy during recovery and that I did it earlier after my second kid. I will explain later why..

He came to see me every late afternoon or evening while in the hospital. Then I saw him at week 1 and week 3 appointments. He is simply great, friendly and caring. He is available through WhatsApp unlike many other doctors, he responses asap when he is available although he has operations everyday he spends his late afternoon to take care of post op patients. He is an hands on Doctor. Realising him being busy I refer some of my (Extensive!) questions to his assistant Ceren, a qualified nurse, and she is a total charm to deal with. I feel supported 7/24 which helps my healing.

- any medicines you normally take but inform the doctor as he may direct you stop few days ahead of the operation
- God forbid - you don’t Wanna cough if you had a tummy tuck so get some pastilles to soften your throat. I woke up with a rather sour throat after the operation and I kept having one before falling asleep.
- I had stomach problems with bloating, so I visited a gastroenterologist pre operation who gave me pills to control bloating as well as stool softeners.
- I have allergic asthma so I had ventolin and antihistamines which helped me through the anesthesia effects
- for week 3 onwards , get some Nelson’s Arnica cream, the arnica in Turkey is different, didn’t make me good.
- ps . Everyone is different , above are myself only, but thought these might remind you your own conditions
- you will be loaded And prescribed by painkillers And antibiotics by the doctor and I can say I didn’t really have much pain to complaint at all.

Week 3 post op

Helen.london
I had bed rest for 13 days from operation. Had the operation On Tuesday and made start at work next Monday but I worked from home with my PC on my lap while half lying on the bed.

I managed to finish the day fine however as soon as I had dinner I had to sleep because I got exhausted. the next day in the evening I felt rather tired After work felt like having a shiver. Took an early night again. the whole week was like this up and down there were times I felt very cold there were times I felt hot but I managed to get through. I wished to have started half way through in my second week on a part-time basis and work through the third week part time again. If you can manage I would suggest three weeks bed rest would be ideal.
