UPDATED FROM TwinMommaMakeover

6 week mark

TwinMommaMakeover
WORTH IT$18,899
Yesterday was the 6 week mark! I have been waiting for this moment for...well 6 weeks...! :) I have officially switched from the binder to the spanx (except at night, I still wear the binder to sleep). It feels so nice to wear normal, non-baggy clothes again! I will say though, that I have been REALLY swollen at the end of the day without the binder. I’m sure that will subside in time. I still can’t stick my butt out, but that will come in time I’m sure.
I’m finally getting my nutrition dialed in...I felt so hungry during the bulk of my recovery, it was hard to stay focused on my quantities of food! I am getting better though. I also plan on exercising this week which I am excited about! I’m going to take it easy to start, then slowly work back up to where I was.
I’m attaching some pics I took yesterday morning...they aren’t the best quality, but at least you can see the progress. I hope everyone is healing nicely!

Thanks girl!! You do too!! I can’t wait to see your booty challenge progress! And thank you four workout advice. I am taking your advice and easing into it. I started walking this week...I’ve been walking about 3 miles a day...slow pace. It’s been waaaay too effing hot though to do much more, and next week is going to be over 100 degrees again... maybe I’ll hit up the treadmill.

Thank you! I have to admit that I've missed about a week on the booty challenge, but I got started again this morning! Walking is a great way to start and it's been hot here too, but i love it! Not so much 100 degrees, but I'm good for 90's lol

Look at you standing nearly straight! Your shape is looking so incredible and your scar is so light! It’s gotta feel so good to get back to normalcy. I’m so looking forward to that six week mark to start exercising again. I need it mentally. I went to my daughter’s swim class today and had planned to stroll a bit afterward, but I was so tired and it was just too hot. Oh well, I’ll get there in time. Enjoy this next phase of recovery!!!

Awe, thanks! I was the same way...counting down to the 6 week mark. Everyone said it’s when they really start to feel normal again, and I have to agree! Your progress is looking really good too! I think your incisions will all heal nice and thin! Your PS did a great job keeping your TT incision nice and straight!

Thank you so much! My new body feels so good already. I’m definitely optimistic about my incisions. I like the placement and shape for sure. I vow to do my part to help them heal as best I can. xo

5 weeks P.O.

Yesterday was the 5 week mark for me! Yay! I’m feeling so much better than I did just one week ago. I’m starting to get used to the swelling, which for the most part is the worst at the end of the day. I have been trying to continue to take it easy as much as I can.
Most of the glue has fallen off my incision areas, so I can finally start to see the end result and holy smokes the lines look amazing. My husband keeps telling me that Dr Smith did a great job. :) I’m still only about 90% upright. I think I will finally feel 100% when I can stick my butt out again. Right now it’s still pretty tucked under... I am also still having pulling, bruised pains in my abdomen, which I can’t quite tell if they are from my binder or from overdoing it. My incisions are still very tender, especially under my boobs. It feels bruised. I have been trying to do a little more walking, especially at work...I will take short walking breaks just to get moving. I know everyone says this but I can’t wait to workout again! Although I think it’ll be a slow process getting back into it.
I haven’t bought any new bras or clothes yet because I am afraid my body will continue to change. I do have a couple 34DD bra from my preggers days I tried on that my boobs were popping out of! Haha! I’ll have to try them in again and take a pic. I can’t wait to go shopping...and I can’t wait to wear heels again!
I’ll attach some pictures I took yesterday morning before work. So far I am reallllly happy with the progress! I hope everyone else is doing well!

Hey hun. Thank you for posting your journey. I've just come across your updates. How are you feeling in general? How are you managing work? [RS bleep]

Hi there! I’m really really feeling better every day. I feel like I have made it through the worst of it, now it’s just more nuisance/uncomfortable pains than debilitating pains. You will find when you have your procedure that the little victories feel monumental, like the first time you cough without the intense burning, tearing pain. It was hard to get back in the swing of work. I was exhausted the first week back, but survived. I have a desk job though. If you do too, you probably won’t have too many issues going back. I hope your procedure goes well! I look forward to following your progress!!

You look absolutely wonderful! Love how your TT incision looks! That's how I originally wanted mine, but that was not achievable for me. Working out again is a slow process, but I think you'll be surprised by how quickly you will get back into thevswing of things :) congrats momma!

Thanks girl! You are always so supportive! I appreciate that!! :) I spoke with my doctors nurse on Friday and she recommended to stay with the stationary bike...what do you think? Any recommend for my first week back at the gym?
July 15, 2018
Aww thanks! At 3 weeks I was allowed to do bodyweight squats and light cardio. At 6 weeks I could do whatever I pleased. For your first week I would listen to your PS's nurse and stick with the bike or do some walking. So many lifting positions really need you to be able to keep you back straight and shoulders back for proper form. I was comfortable doing light weights at first and then worked my way back up to what I was lifting before. I would wait to do squats until you can stand straight and keep a slight arch in your back, otherwise it will be improper form and you risk injuring yourself. You can avoid engaging the and by holding onto something for balance. I did calf raises next to a wall or chair to help maintain balance and avoid engaging the and. When you are able to stand straight, i recommend starting what is called the "stomach vacuum." Do this while standing. Start by taking a deep breath in and letting your stomach expand and then slowly blow the air out and simultaneously try to suck you BB in towards your spine and hold for 10 seconds. Do this 3x a day/ 3 days a weeks. Increase your time by 10 seconds each week if you can. This works the transverse abdominal muscles, which are your deepest ab muscles. If you are looking to do any arm exercises, I would do them while seated to start with. Then when you are comfortable, move to,a standing position. If anything hurts, stop! There is no reason to push through any pain, especially this early in recovery. Hope this helps!

You’ll feel amazing once your able to stand fully erect!!! It was the best feeling in the world for me! The whole butt situation haha. That is currently what I’m trying to work on. All that sitting after surgery flattens your butt and not being able to fully stretch your abdomen messes with your back arch. I’ve heard it takes a little bit for your but to take original form but it will Get there.. I’m working on getting my butt tighter and losing some of the cellulite I gained in that area!! Happy healing you look wonderful!

Yes girl, standing straight is going to be a game changer! :) I saw your post about the butt challenge! I can’t wait to see your progress!!
UPDATED FROM TwinMommaMakeover

4 weeks P.O. today

TwinMommaMakeover
Well today marks 4 weeks. I woke up really swollen this morning and I’m not sure why. I didn’t really overdo anything yesterday. I did get some pain last night as I was going to bed in my lower abdomen. Maybe I strained something? It is making me a little frustrated...I know this is a long journey but I just miss feeling normal and healthy.

On the progress side, I am finally standing a little straighter. I would say I’m at about 90% which feels good. I didn’t have the greatest posture to begin with so I am working on that...at least while I’m sitting. Also, most of the glue has fallen off my lower incision and it looks amazing! It’s so thin and straight! Dr Smith did such a great job! The glue is still on my breast incisions...but I’m almost glad it’s still there. It makes me feel more secure, especially since I’m still having some pain In those incisions.

I cannot wait to start exercising again. I feel like a big blob and have definitely lost any muscle I had. I’m weighing in at 153 but it’s definitely because of muscle loss.

Anyway, I’m sorry for the less tam cheery update. Tomorrow will be a new day and hopefully I will be less swollen...and maybe I’ll wake up on the cheery side of the bed...especially since it is the 4th of July! I hope you all have a safe and happy 4th!
