Continuing to improve

Each day gets a little better. My three little ones came home on Sunday, which has proved to be challenging. However, each day gets easier. I truly believe that my recovery has been so easy because Dr. Heck is such a great doctor. My swelling isn’t bad, nor is my pain. So far, I’m pleased with my decision to go through with the tummy tuck and with my doctor. Here are some before pictures and surgery day pictures.

Follow-up appointment today

I had my follow-up appointment today and it was pretty quick. They said everything looked good, gave me permission to shower and said to come back in two weeks to get one of the drains out. I feel pretty good at this point. My recovery has not been bad at all, thus far!

Day of surgery

Today was the big day. I got there at 6:00 am and went into surgery at 7:30. I was in tears on my way into the OR, as I started thinking about my little ones. The anesthesiologist could tell I was anxious and quickly put me to sleep, thankfully! The surgery lasted about 1.5 hours and all I remember was waking up in recovery. I was sent home about two hours after that. The nurses were amazing, the anesthesiologist was amazing and Dr. Heck was amazing! My doctor told me I had severe muscle damage and that the muscles were just “hanging there.” I’m sore, but staying ahead of the pain as much as possible. I think the muscle repair is the most painful at this point, but I’m sure it will improve. So far, I’ve received excellent care and I’m excited to see my results.
