Do Your Research and Follow Your Gut!
Based on my personal experience with this doctor and his staff. I would not recommend this doctor or his office for any work.
From the day of consultation, I should have followed my gut and went elsewhere but I had followed this doctor for years and was convinced that he is as he touts “A World Renowned Doctor”. His personality leaves much to be desired, this man is short with you and cold. I chalked this up to him being in such high demand but no doctor should treat their patients this way.
I came out of state for my consultation and told myself he was the best and so long as he did the best work “who cares what his personality is like”. That probably would have been OK if his work lived up to what is portrayed on his social media. I have three areas that need revisions.
In January 2021 I underwent a MMO and upper eye lid surgery. Unfortunately, I had less than desirable results in three areas as well as healing issues. This doctor actually told me to lance a spot (myself, at home) on my incision that had cellulitis.
10 month post op, I traveled back to Florida to see the doctor and discuss areas that would require revisions. Again. I was met with a cold and rushed doctor that seemed to have no interest in seeing me, although agreeing that three revisions were needed. For This post op visit with the doctor, I was given less than a minute before he turned and left the room. I was given no instruction as to whether I was to get dressed or stay there. Almost five minutes later a member of his staff showed up and told me she was taking me down the hall for pictures. I was told to grab my clothes as I would not be coming back to the examination room. I was then walked down the hallway (passing other clients there for consultations) in a paper gown, trying to hold it closed along with my purse and clothing. Once reaching the room where I was to have pictures taken. There was another staff member there working on a computer. I was stood at the end of the room with nothing on except paper panties for my post pictures. This was to be expected but what wasn’t was the other staff member to get to leave, opening the door and fully exposing me to other patients coming down the hall. To add insult to injury, the staff member taking my pictures did the exact same thing once she finished taking photos. I made eye contact with other patients walking down the hall, I was naked and humiliated. And, I was again left in a room without any further direction. After 10 minutes I got dressed and went to the front desk to see if anyone was coming to discuss the details of the revisions that were very briefly mentioned by the doctor. The front desk staff had no idea what was going on actually tried to make another post op visit. After explaining to them why I was there. And much back and forth, I was eventually just handed a piece of paper with the quote to have the revisions done. Nothing more. No one met with me to explain what these revisions consisted of…surgery time, recovery time or possible complications. Nothing. I left Dr. Hochsteins office so very very disappointed. This is a man that claims to sell beauty and confidence. I can assure I have yet to once feel either after leaving his office! I like you have read and read his reviews and chalked up the “bedside manner” to a busy doctor and would probably still feel that way should there not been issues with his work. Now, I am stuck with less than favorable results from a doctor that I would never trust to work on me again. He and much of his staff are cold and short. A trait that they have most likely picked up from their boss. I am so disappointed and heartbroken that after saving for so long and believing that this doctor was the best, to be treated as nothing more than another person on his rapid conveying belt of faces he sees daily.
