AVOID - Horrible Bedside Manner and Horrible Surgeon

After waiting in the waiting room for about an hour, Dr. Miller spent about 5 minutes with me to go over a simple mole removal surgery on my face. He said the scar would not be noticeable at all. He performed the surgery and I have a very large noticeable scar on my face. I told Dr. Miller that I thought the stitches popped, and the scar was very large as a result, and he dismissed my concerns. After seeing five or so plastic surgeons since that time, each one said that they would not have removed the mole on my face in that area because it is a delicate area and very noticeable. I have also spent thousands of dollars on lasers, microdermabrasion, and fillers. Sadly, nothing has helped much. I deal with the insecurity of this every day, and it's affected my life deeply. Please consider another plastic surgeon who will take the time to speak with you before the procedure about the potential downsides and who will do a better job on your surgery.

Having a scar after surgery is not ideal, but this illustrates an important aspect of plastic surgery - there is always a chance of having a scar afterwards. We have performed over 10,000 excisions of facial growths over the last 25 years and almost all of them healed well. But there always a few unlucky patients where this isn't the case. Every single time we discuss things preoperatively, we mentioned the possibility of a scar and that you have to be OK with that before undergoing surgery.
