I Can't Thank Him, and His Clinic Enough. They've Changed my Life.
WORTH IT
Both Dr. McEvenue and the staff at the McLean clinic, are absolutely stellar. From the very first contact, to my final checkup, I have been extremely satisfied with my experience - so much so, that I purposefully chose to drive five+ hours to be a patient of his, instead of choosing a local clinic.
The thing that impressed me most about Dr. McEvenue, and the staff working with him, was his care and respect for his patients. On two occasions, he went above and beyond for me -- The first time, when he took time outside of his work hours to read and respond to my panicked emails, when I fell into the rare 2% that have a specific complication after surgery (and to be clear - it was one every doctor I researched cautioned about, and is caused by the body failing to do it's part in recovery, not as a fault of the procedure). He alleviated my fears, answered my questions, looked over my badly-taken photos, counseled me on how to care properly care for the issue, was willing to fit me in if I felt I needed to see him, and scheduled a timely follow up appointment to make sure everything was okay. Thanks to him, and the nursing staff on site, I made it through with only a minor setback in my healing.
The second time, was on my six month follow up. I was already pleased with the results, but when Dr. McEvenue saw me, he thought he could make it even better. While I assumed that he would book me in for another appointment, and that I'd have to make another trip, he surprised me by fitting me into a gap in his schedule so that he could do the small procedure immediately, and I wouldn't have to make a return visit.
Now, in the last stretch of healing, I feel awesome when I look in the mirror. Even the staff at my primary care clinic, who have several other patients who have undergone the same procedure, remark that 'hands down', this is the best looking results they have seen. I am even pleased that, despite all I had researched and read, at seven months I already have 100% feeling and sensitivity back in my skin.
I owe him, and all the staff at the McLean clinic, more gratitude than I can put into my words. Thanks to their work, my whole life has changed, and I would shout his business card from the roof top if it meant someone else might have the same experience I had.
Now if you will excuse me - I am going swimming for the first time in ten years.
