WORTH IT

Hey I'm 20 years old and ive been struggling with acne since i was around 12. The last three years they have gotten deep and painful leaving behind bright scarring all over my face. It was crippling to my confidence. I have acne on my back, chest and face. I have tried the topical cream and another prescription pill for acne but it made me so sick i had to stop taking it. I'm beyond frusterated and this is my last resort. I'm starting with Clarus 40mg every other day for the first two weeks then I will be switching to taking it every day. I am doing this review so i can keep track of my progress and to help anyone who may be on the fence about starting accutane.

did you experience ingrown toenails while on it?? it has never been an issue for me but i am on it currently and it is a big issue

I am also in Mississauga. Do I need to go to dermatologist toget accutane or a family doctor can also prescribe it? How much time it takes to get the medicine after your first visit. Thanks please reply

you have to go to your family doctor so they can set you up with a dermatologist then the dermatologist prescribed it for you. it took me about a month!

Just continue to be strong. I struggled with severe acne, and oil gland disease since i was 12 year-old. I'm now 59 and still going through this battle. I've been to 12 dermatologist, and I've been on rentin-A for over thirty years. Still no relief. Accutane saved my life. It gave me hope and it totally changed my outlook. It something that has a lotvof emotional impact on your psyche, ths scarring is the worse because it's permanent. Keep your regimen and be strong!!

Good luck! We’re in the same boat, I’m 22 and I’ve had mild acne since I was 13 but for the last 3 years it has become more severe and very annoying! I have painful itchy nodules on my cheeks only. I tried BPO for about a year and tretionin for 2,5 months, then my dermatologist put me on accutane 40mg/day with oral clindamycin.
I’ve started treatment 10 days ago.
I only have dry lips for now, and I’m using Chapstick for it.
Hope to start seeing improvement by the next month or so (fingers crossed) *_*
