1 Month Post Surgery Still Sore

50dreamweaver
WORTH IT$2,800
A month ago today I had smartlipo on my waistline and back.
I'm still sore and slightly hard on my left and right sides of my waistline. My waistline went from a 29 to 27. I'm looking forward to seeing my final results in a few month but so far I'm pleased.

Hello...I live in SC. How long did you have to stay in FL? Like you, I want the lipo on flanks, upper abdomen, and back to correct a previous lipo issue. Can you tell me what the cost was for you? Also, with having the procedure on the front and back of your body, how long were you out of work?
January 28, 2017
I stayed 5 days but it's best if you stay a week for the additional massages. The cost for my entire back and flanks was around 2,700. I'm a stay at home mom and I was hard for me to pick up my 2 yr old and bend down for weeks.

You look amazing. I'm scheduled for the end of February. Glad to know you didn't feel anything under local anesthesia. My out of state coordinator is Carmela. She's a sweetheart.. had a minor issue but was resolved. I've read a few reviews about the Dr not being personable.. hopefully that will change

Will I ever go back or recommend Evolution MD...probably not

I'm back home in Georgia and decided to do a full review.

So far my results look good only 6 days post lipo on waistline and entire back.
The issue I have is the entire process leading up to surgery and after surgery.

Let's start with before surgery. My consultant was Ledda. If you're reading this and Ledda is your consultant, whenever you call back demand someone else.
Ledda left out so much valuable information that I needed, like the recommended time I should take in Florida, pre surgical procedures, medication call in, pre surgery appt, labs NOTHING. I had to complain to the surgery coordinator, and she informed me that Ledda has had several complaints and she will let management know. Ledda is all about her commission and once she gets that downpayment you will never hear from her again. All she discussed with me was my procedure cost and downpayment cost. The surgical coordinator worked with me to get my pre surgery appt the same day as surgery procedure since Ledda failed to inform me on this and I had already purchased my plane ticket.

Evolution is unorganized.
First of all the majority of the Evolution staff English comes as a second language.

When it was time for the surgery a nurse from Cuba messed up my IV insertion and wasn't very friendly so she had to get another lady to insert it. A mess!
I kept asking her questions about what was happening next etc etc, it was clear she didn't understand English well.

Right before surgery I finally meet Dr V and he did my markings kept it short left the room.

I remember nothing from the surgery and I was under local anesthesia. I felt nothing. The only thing I remember was laying in the recovery room throwing up 3 times after the procedure and someone asking me if my ride was outside. Like really....can I rest and get my mind right before yall kick me out.

The next day I got drainage massage and meet with Dr V nurse. Dr V himself didn't meet with me. He appears to have a Hollywood personality in my opinion. Actually I heard he may get a reality show.
Honestly if I EVER get another procedure done it will be with English speaking facility and doctor. I like doctors who are personable with clients. A doctor should always call or personally see the patient they preformed on the following day.

At the end of the day my waistline is smaller and I'm gonna be great all summer 2017.

Our Dearest Patient,
I am sorry to hear that your experience at Evolution MD was difficult, I would love to personally answer some of your questions & concerns. I am so happy to hear that you are doing great during your Post-Operatory stage back home in Georgia. Our focus and priority here at Evolution MD will always be our patient’s wellbeing and satisfaction, my consultants as well as every team member have each and individually been trained by myself or qualified managers to give our patients quality customer service and feel informed and comfortable with their decision for surgery. Everyone single one of them count with superior knowledge to answer all your questions or concerns through your surgery journey. Every patient at the moment of consultation is given the same information that is pertinent to their procedure making sure they are soaked with knowledge by the time they leave our office. We have our surgical coordinators who after the patient has booked their surgery date, then follow up to get all the rest of the process going such as, preparation, prescriptions and regular pre-operative care. We highly encourage our out-of-town patients to hold off on buying the plane ticket until all the needed pre-operative steps have been taken care of, that way we can avoid any misunderstandings.
Evolution MD is proud to now have 5 offices and we continue to grow on a daily basis, we have more than 75 employees, 4 operating rooms, quilified nurses, board certified anesthesiologists, nurse practitioners, medical assistants, and so on, all of our staff in every one of our offices is trained and happy to assist our patients in anything and everything they need during their visit with us, we do live in a multi-cultural city in which it is normal for our employees to speak even more than 2 languages , we are sorry you had a difficult time with that.
Right before the surgery, as you mentioned I see the patients to do their markings and answer any last-minute questions, as well as to assure my patient that their surgery will be a great success. Our patients such as yourself that do their surgery with local anesthesia tend to not remember the process of surgery due to the twilight sedation they receive, because of this the surgery without pain or discomfort is a total success. It is common for patients after surgery to feel nausea and discomfort, that is why they will not leave the recovery room or the facility until I myself see that they are medically okay to do so and are always under the direct care of a Registered Nurse. We make sure that our patients have a caretaker so we can explain all the post-operatory instructions and we make sure you have transportation and all needed care. The questions asked in regards to our patients after care is just standard protocol to make sure they have the proper post-operatory experience.
The next day after surgery our patients received the lymphatic massages and then meet with myself or my nurse practitioner, when this is the case it is because I am currently in surgery changing someone’s life with an amazing body and she is qualified to see follow up patients under these circumstances.
Again, I am sorry for your “difficult experience” and know that we are constantly working on ways to improve as a company. I am glad you are happy with your results so far, and look forward to seeing you soon.

Thank you
Dr. Cesar Velilla

Yes happy with my results so far. Just wanted to share my entire experience. Thank you

So with local Anesthesia your put to sleep
January 28, 2017
Yes, I was knocked out. If I knew that it would put me to sleep I probably wouldn't have got the procedure. I don't want to be put to sleep unless I have to not for vanity reasons!
January 29, 2017
Thank u for responding...I'm scared of being put to sleep
April 8, 2017
So was it local anesthesia WITH sedation? You shouldn't be completely knocked out with just local. That's strange. Also, thank you for your review. Definitely not doing any work there. A patient should feel comfortable in their doctor's and RN's hands. Should expect to be completely informed prior to the procedure. That's why they have you sign SN "informed consent."
April 8, 2017
My thoughts exactly because I've had tumescent lipo 6 years ago with another doctor under local anesthesia and I was completely awake, I was talking and laughing during the procedure and drove myself home afterwards. This was suppose to be local with Dr V but I'm confused why I was completely knocked out the entire time and vomit several times afterwards. My results look great but the experience wasn't idea for me

I totally agree! I won't return myself. He's good but his office is sooooo uncoordinated, i felt like a number not a patient.
