Pre-Op
Well...My surgery is Officially 11 days away!!! I had my pre-op yesterday and i fortunately passed my blood tests. I have had type 2 diabetes since i was very young, as i grew-up i let my diabetes get out of control. In order for me to have the surgery i needed to have my A1C (a test that indicates the average level of blood sugar over the past 2 to 3 months) at 7 or below, 6 months ago i had it at 10. Ive been running 3 miles and eating healthy and it paid off!!!! i had it at exactly 7!!!!
My pre-op appointment was at 10:30 am and they didnt take me in until 11. Im warning everyone that they take forever! My mom went with me because she's the one who is going to take care of me. She was drilling the nurses with question about how many people have died(none, so far), emergency protocols, and who are the anesthesiologist (group from Larkin hospital). My mom was happy with their responses. We also saw the doctor super quick, Ive been lucky that ive seen him 3 times. I know some people only see him once. The nurse eventually went over the instructions for post op care and gave me the drug prescriptions. Finally they did the electrogram, everything came out perfect as well. By that time it was 12 and i still needed to pay for my surgery. I also ended up adding another area for lipo which was the sacral area and that was an extra $400 . The garment was $169 and i only bought 1, for the stage 2 garment i will probably buy 2. I know that the massages they provide start at $75 which is not bad but i live an 1 hr away and thats a lot of gas. Ive found 2 ladies by my home. One of them comes to my house and she charges $50 and she does the massage by hand and the other lady i need to go her spa but she uses a combination of hands and machine for $75. If any of you are interested just message me :)
Its really hitting me now that the surgery is really happening, I didnt want to hype myself up just in case i didn't pass my post-op. Im super excited, though and counting down the days.
My coordinator left and i have a new one her name is Katherine, shes super sweet and nice (i like her better than my previous coordinator)
