About a month post op
It’s been about a month... I am healing well and very pleased with the results so far. I’m only wearing a natural deodorant some days. I haven’t noticed any odor and very little wetness. I still have some lumps but they’re slowly resolving. Also the back part of my arm and parts of my underarms are still numb. Thankfully my arms aren’t nearly as sensitive as they were the first few weeks or so.
My experience with Trinity Vista Dermatology was exceptional
Before my procedure I did lots of research and overwhelmed my self with lots of reviews and information. I almost talked myself out of it... I’m so glad I didn’t!! It’s only been 9 days, but I haven’t had to wear any deodorant and I haven’t had any wetness or odor. Although, I have read after a few weeks some sweating may reappear.
I’m a 30 year old female and have suffered with hyperhidrosis since middle school. Spending tons of money in search of that magic deodorant/antiperspirant and on new shirts bc my favorite ones were ruined.
Through my research I decided to wash with Hibiclens soap the night before and morning of. My drs office recommended that I shave the morning before.
They day of Miradry I wore a comfortable bra and a comfortable loose shirt, which was easy to put back on after the procedure. The medical esthetician cleaned my underarms and then applied the temporary tattoo guide. She then proceeded with the lidocaine and saline injections, it was 7 injections for each arm. The injections did pinch, but they weren’t unbearable. The numbness went all the way to my hands. I double checked to make sure that was okay and I was reassured it wasn’t unusual. Right away she began using the handheld Miradry wand, but it was very uncomfortable, so we paused and allowed the anesthetic 5 more minutes to kick in. The rest of the procedure was totally pain free. Afterwards I was extremely jittery, likely from the epinephrine in the anesthetic. I was given some ice packs along with my post op instructions, and drove myself home. It probably took about an hour for the jittering to wear off and for tingling to start getting better in my hands.
The post op discomfort was more than I anticipated, but nothing too extreme. I was very diligent with the ice packs, 20 min on and 20 min off while awake for the rest of that day and the following two days. I also took ibuprofen as needed and another supplement to help with swelling that I came across in all my research called “Swell-x Pt.” I have also been cleaning my underarms with the hibiclens twice a day and I applied vaseline for the first two days. My arms down to my elbow and underarms were very swollen for a few days. Now most of the swelling has gone down. I have several lumps under each arm that are very tender, I expect it will take them several weeks to gradually disappear. The backs of my upper arms are still numb and the rest of my arm is hypersensitive, tingly, and sore with an occasional “zing” ...nothing that has stopped me from going to work or being in too much pain. Based on my experience I had three days off after Miradry and I’m very thankful I did. I wouldn’t have been comfortable going back to the day after or the second day even. Each day I feel like I’m healing a little more! I will continue to update.
(My experience with Trinity Vista Dermatology was exceptional!! They spent lots of time answering all my questions, and putting me at ease. You can the entire staff truly cares about their patients!)
