Exceeded All Expectations

Excellent. I am now a 64 yo physician and my varicose veins were diagnosed when I was in medical school, 1977, when I was 23 years old. I had no risk factors, consider myself athletic, and from my mid teens to age 50, ran regularly (15-40 mi a week), did some swimming, and some strength training. Initially I was told to wear support stockings. I did for over 40 years, but then my legs became tired by the end of the day. Knew I would need surgery, but did not want a lot of recovery time. After evaluating my legs with ultrasound, I was a candidate for bilateral saphenous vein treatment. After considering the options, I chose VenaSeal. My doctor performed this in an outpatient treatment center with mild oral sedatives and local anesthesia. I had the procedure on a Monday (both the VenaSeal along with about 20 small vein excisions on the collateral vessels), 2 days later had an unrelated surgery for an umbilical hernia, and 4 days after that was doing a light workout with my personal trainer. Monday a week after the surgery, I was back to work full time (I was working 50-60 hours a week at the time). No problems. Now 9 months later I have had no regrets at any time. For the first time in 40 years I can go without support hose all day and have no swelling, no aches, no leg issues at all. Wish I had done the procedure sooner, but was not available and I did not want to take a long recovery earlier.
