$3900 vs $800

$800
So I just had a second consult with a cosmetic surgery tech and discussed the option of doing 2 treatments at once for 7 treatments 10 weeks apart. He was really knowledgeable and answered all my questions, he has also been removing tattoos for over 10 years so I really trust him. If I go this route it will be a little less than a year and a half til this thing is off me for good! If it isn't gone in the 7 sessions he said he would continue going for free. I was totally sold until he told me the price would be $3900 up front....holy hana. I do not have that kind of money!!! Ugh what do you guys think, everytime I think about it I think it's worth it to get this off my body but also what if it ends up taking more than 7, what if it takes 9 or 10? The other place I looked at quoted me 10-12 at $80 per session but only doing one pass with the laser. If the other place takes more than 7 sessions then I basically wasted thousands of dollars when I could have gotten it done for 800 in the same amount of time. Please, any advice is much appreciated!

I'm in the same boat, trying to decide between pico way and a quanta c plus. My advice would be that for black that picosure is not the best. For removal of black you really need a laser that works at 1064 wavelength . That's the depth that black ink sits in the skin. So that's a q switch or pico way . Picosure works at 755 wavelength and works best on multi coloured tatts. Good luck

Maybe you can try one or two treatments at the place with the sessions for $80 and see what results you get? If you respond well to that laser you can continue there and save a lot of money. If you don`t get a good result, well, then you would not have lost so much.

You can also ask for a testpatch to be taken at the different clinics. That might give you a clue as to how your tattoo will react to the different lasers.

trying to decide between Pico and Q switch....

I'm trying to decide between q switch and pico.....I'm okay with being patient but q switch could tale more than two years and the more research I do it seems like Pico could only be a year to a year and a half... what do you guys think? Is it worth Pico for a black outline tattoo?

I would say Yes! Absolutely! The Pain is horrible and after care/healing is Long and tedious so I would definitively pay more to have fewer treatments

Just be careful because by the sounds of it the pico is better for colours and they also did really good marketing! With black ink it seems that it takes a lot longer. I've heard the q switch 1064 is the best for black ink and you seem have a lot o black ink! I would also wait longer between sessions because it fades more the longer you wait in between session and gives more time for the skin to heal! I've been researching for a while, but I was too scared to go to my first appointment since I've heard it hurts so bad! I rescheduled for this week and I hope I can stand the pain.... Mine is a long script tattoo along my side :( I wish you the best of luck on this journey! We both seem to have large tattoos!

Welcome to the community, I'm so glad that you joined in and decided to share your story. So sorry you're feeling down about this whole situation, tattoo regret is a really hard pill to swallow. Right now you're in the eye of the tornado but eventually the storm will calm, you'll see. Just take it one day at a time, try not to focus on what you don't like, and what you wish you didn't do, just move forward -- in fact, you already have as sharing your story is taking your first step towards finding the solution that works for you.

I thought I would share the following inspiration with you as you need a pick me up:

Thank you for sharing! Ugh j just can't wait to begin the removal process I feel like this has effected my life so negatively!

Your story is so similar to mine! I've been having an extremely hard time with my half sleeve as well, I have huge black pinetrees all over it and it ruined a tattoo I really liked before. If it helps at all, I think your art looks really sick and well done. But I totally understand wanting to get rid of it, as I am thinking of the same for mine too. I just never realized how much I would miss my natural skin showing, and it can be really hard because I miss wearing tank tops and not feeling self conscious. You mentioned that you've heard lots of negativity online, but I actually have heard so much positive stuff about removal. Yeah, its super expensive but can be really effective in moderation, and less hard on your wallet. Don't let it control your life, just own it and stay confident that it is NOT as permanent as everyone says. Good luck! :)
