Sadly Do NOT recommend Dr. Burns

When reading the reviews be sure to pay special attention to the negatives. These people are nice as can be and responsive to your emails pre procedure but once you have had your surgery and they have gotten your money it is a whole different story. If you are unfortunate enough to have a poor surgical result your concerns and emails will be ignored. I am from Indianapolis and found Dr. Burns on tiktok. I have been searching for a surgeon and have consulted with many surgeons prior to consulting with Dr. Burns. I consulted for a “mommy makeover” and was initially drawn to Dr. Burns because he showed and offered a “mini tummy tuck” (no belly button incision only the lower scar as I was worried about a “full” tummy tuck as it seems there are many obviously looking bellybuttons post that method. Consulting with Dr. Burns I was told I was a candidate for the”mini” tummy tuck. I received my surgical quote and scheduled my surgery and prepared for travel from Indy to Dallas for said procedures. Fast forward to day of surgery Dr. Burns was marking my belly button as well with all of his pre op markings at the surgery center. I questioned this as “I was scheduled for and paid for a “mini” tummy tuck without that incision. I should have halted at this point but against my better judgement trusted that Dr. Burns knew best and went along with this despite that wasn’t the original surgical plan.

Fast forward to post op… I am now one year post op as of June and just as I feared my belly button has turned out horribly. Despite the fact that I have NEVER had poor scarring and always scar amazingly well (including the breast aug and lift Dr Burns did along with this tummy tuck.). I have emailed my concerns from early post op and was told that I could come for a revision in the spring. Scheduled and went for this “scar revision” which involved once again travelling from Indy to Dallas. Had this done March ‘24. Let this heal… still horrible if not worse. Contacted via email with my result photo and the fact of no improvement. Was told to see a dermatologist for my scarring lol. Ended up traveling yet again to Dallas and had steroid injection with Dr. Burns late April early May.

Fast forward to current day. I am officially one year post op and my result is absolutely horrible. I have consulted plastic surgeons across the US in hopes of fixing this poor result. I have been told that this result is due to poor surgical technique and that there was likely too much tension on my abdominal incisions and belly button. (My low scar also is bad but that is at least able to be covered easily). I have also learned that the technique that Dr Burns used is very antiquated and the “circle incision around the belly button” is prone to scarring poorly and there are far better techniques used with hidden belly button incisions. I am learning my revision belly button will be difficult and is also going to cost me as much if not more than my original entire tummy tuck procedure sadly and will ALSO involve traveling to do such.

I emailed Dr. Burns and his office asking for my tummy tuck fee back in attempt to put towards paying for this revision. I included the original surgical quote and showing that I had paid for and agreed originally on a “mini” tummy tuck. It has now been one week and no reply. (Note : pre procedure Dr. Burns was quick to respond to emails personally. Not this time lol).

I am very saddened by this turn of events as I really did believe he was sincere with his overly sweet demeanor and care.

I am attaching copies of my horrible belly button surgery result ; my lower scar which is also poor, the email I sent to Dr. Burns as well as a copy of the original “surgical plan.”

I will also be posting after photos once I am finally able to save and travel for a revision surgery with a different surgeon.

Feel free to reach out to me if you have any specific questions about my experience.
