48 Year Old with Smoker Lines and Didn’t Smoke!

I hated the vertical lip lines that had developed on my upper lip and around my mouth from age, sun damage, and chugging water from bottles. I literally had a u shaped wrinkle unde my nose! My wonderful aesthetician at Forme, Angela Terry, suggested I speak with Dr. Sachin Pawar about laser resurfacing. I booked it 5 months out waiting for it to be winter and no sunshine. I am 3 months out and I am very happy I did it. It was worth the worry, downtime and money. The worst part of the ordeal was the fear of the unknown- will it hurt, what if something goes wrong and I screw up my face, and how long will it take to heal? I will not lie it is no walk in the park but with the numbing cream and shots it is completely tolerable. A Valium also helps to calm the nerves. I took a week off of work to hide and to heal. You would be surprised what a tedious job it is to sit, heal, worry, sleep up right and tend to your face with creams. The first two days are scariest and you will wonder why you did it as your face is bright red, swollen and crusty oozy. Day three and four you are a snake. By day five you can see an improvement and by a week you look like you have a rash but can cover it pretty well with titnted moisturizer. I was pretty red where he went deep for a solid month and a half. In month two I saw the redness go down little by little on a weekely basis. By the end of month three I would say I am 95% back to normal. I only see the red after I wash my face. He went very deep around my mouth/perioral area and my eyes, and went lighter on my cheeks And forehead. I feel the greatest gain was made around my mouth. However, when I use my magnifying mirror to put in my contacts I am amazed at how much smoother my cheeks are as well. They told me the results keep getting better with time and so far I would agree. I have definitely see an improvement and am excited to see how I look 6 months out.
