I sought out this procedure due to constant upper back and neck pain that were contributing factors to my migraines. I wasn't sure if this would be the ultimate fix, but it was worth a shot since nothing else really helps. I did PT for my upper back and neck that didn't help, and I tried to loss weight, but my breast size stayed the same. Finally, I had poor posture from my breast size since I was constant rounding my shoulders forward. I am happy to say that I went from a 38 DDD to a 38 C. I would have liked to gone smaller, but after meeting with Dr. Hijjawi I thought a C cup would be a good fit based off of his recommendation. He said he tries to give a woman a size that will fit their frame so he couldn't guarantee that I would be a C, but no matter what it would fit my frame. I thought his honesty about that was very up front so I knew there was a possibility I could still measure into a D cup. In his practice he always performs a lift with a reduction in order to move the breast back to the place it should be. I am happy to say I would absolutely do this surgery again in a heart beat if I had too because my pain has lessened and I've only had one 1 migraine in 6 months. The least amount of migraines I've ever had was 1 every month or every two months so 1 in six months is a great improvement. I've been working on my posture and since my surgery I've been working out more regularly which has lead to some weight loss. I plan to continue that weight loss since I've never felt better. This surgery has given me a new confidence. I can now wear clothes I'd never wear before, and exercising no longer feels embarrassing. Since Dr. Hijjawi had the surgery approved by insurance my portion was only $800, the total cost is only an estimate that includes an extended recovery unit stay.

Dr. Hijjawi is passionate and informative professional in his field. I was originally scheduled to meet with another doctor for this procedure, but my primary care called me to inform that Dr. Hijjawi was who I needed to see. That was the first time I've ever had a doctor redirect me to another provider, and I took it as a good sign. My consultation was the longest appointment at the clinic I had due the extensive history his nurse took, measurements, and the photographs. He took the time to understand why I was seeking the procedure to help with the upper back and neck pain, and hopefully the migraines. He was never dismissive of the idea of it helping the migraines in fact he thought it would probably would due the way I described them to him. He was surprised that my neurologist suggested the idea, and that he was willingly to write a letter for the approval process. I also had my chiropractor and primary care doctors all write notes to help. Right after that appointment I knew why my doctor had sent me to him. He was so kind, caring, and passionate about helping me even though I was not his typical patient, which would be breast cancer patients in my opinion. His assistant made the approval process painless all I had to do was get the letters from my other doctors and she took care of the rest. I first received a denial letter, but that was due to them sending it in without the letters. Once they sent the letters with the full prior authorization my surgery quickly approved it. I did have to reschedule my surgery, but it was only pushed back a week so in my opinion that isn't too bad. I was fine with having the surgery around Christmas, but Dr. Hijjawi did ask me if I was sure. On the day of the surgery I had seen the anesthesiologist first, and then Dr. Hijjawi came in to do his markings. During this he took the time to answer any questions or concerns, and then asked about work and school. He again made sure I understood the scars, and then said he would probably have to do drains. I was hoping to go home after surgery, but since I had my surgery on a Wednesday, and the clinic being closed the rest of the week due to holidays he suggested I stay in the extended recovery unit in order to remove the drains the next day. I was a little nervous about this due to cost which he could sense, but when my mom inquired with the insurance they told her that he had written his prior authorization to cover the stay. At the time of discharge the residents who work with him came by to check on me before writing the order. They all raved about his work saying he did an excellent job even though I couldn't see it yet. Post op for the most part went smoothly I never had any trouble making appointments to see him, and when it wasn't his clinic day I saw his physician assistant who was awesome! At my six month appointment which would be last before he left, Dr. Hijjawi was very happy to hear that my pain had lessen, and that I had only had 1 migraine since the procedure. The only disappointment is Dr. Hijjawi is moving to Salt Lake City, Utah, and that if I ever needed further surgery for whatever reason he will no longer be an option unless I travel. He has set the bar high for future providers in my care.
