I have wanted this ever since I hit puberty and grew strange pointy breasts. I gained weight, birthed and breastfed two children, gained some more weight, and now with the hope of a beautiful new set of breasts, I've shed it all. I'm so ready for this. What I have now is something akin to two socks nailed to a wall. They are pendulous, inconvenient, ugly, empty sacks of skin. I consulted twice with Dr. Rodger Mixter and felt firm in my choices. I had done tons of research, here and elsewhere on the internet. I knew what I wanted - until he told me he thought I would need my nipples to be completely removed and then placed back on as a skin graft due to the distance of my nipples from my chest wall. At first, I agreed that this was fine. I don't need to feed any more children, I don't care much about sensation. Leave it to me to research EVERYTHING but this. The results seem cadaveric in appearance, with the nipples looking flat and dead. Sometimes the graft doesn't take. They no longer project from the body. The scars are... more than I was willing to deal with even with anchor scars I would already have. This is not a result I could be happy with. I delved back into research. I read that most surgeons only consider this maneuver in very extreme cases and very large reductions. The guidelines I have found are: if the nipple complex is 35-40 cm from the collar bone, or 20 cm from the mammary fold. I fall well within these measurements- about 23 for the collar to nipple measurement and 13 for the fold to nipple. I really REALLY want to make this work using the pedicle method, which will preserve the blood supply to the nipple. I can't fathom doing this the way I had previously agreed upon. I want this so badly though. Further details- I intend to go with mod profile silicone implants and we are just going for a general look instead of a cup size or number of CC's. I will be losing quite a bit of volume due to skin so using sizers would not be accurate for me. If you read this whole thing, you get a cookie!

Thank you so much for sharing, I'll be following your posts closely, my breasts look similar to yours, my story the same, my breasts were saggy before the two kids, breast fed them, gained weight, lost some, etc. Want to do something about it but I read so many mixed reviews that I'm just waiting to read a post that I can fully identify with and is 100% happy in the end. Good luck with your journey. Keep us updated. <3

I will keep you posted! I am calling my PS and then another doc for a second opinion on Monday. I have decided there is NO way I am going through with this if I have to do a Free Nipple Graft.

Hi toastercat. I have a similar situation, naturally saggy breast, weight gain, weight loss w/2 kids. I'm scheduled for my bl/be on March 17th. My original consultant my dr wanted to go with smooth round moderate profile. I originally wanted a mommy makeover but I don't want to be immobile for too long and just decided on the ba. I'll more than likely go back for some Lipo but anyway... since my breast tissue is on the thinner side, when I went back for a second pre-opp my dr wants to use the textured implant so I dont bottom out and get saggy again. He never said anything about a nipple graft and honestly, I've seen boobs like ours plenty on this forum and I've never read anything about nipple graphs. Maybe you should see another surgeon. Good luck.

Thank you, I agree it seems off to me... I'm just frustrated because I am ready to go! I don't want to do this the wrong way though. Thanks for your comments :)

Hi girls I hope I can help. I just had my second lift. The first was 20 years ago and I needed the girls replaced and unfortunately after 20 years I bottomed out. Anyways, I looked exactly like you before the first I'm a mom of 5 breastfed them all and became completely deflated. I used to say they looked like cake decorating bags. Yuck. I did not have to have my nipples removed. I have all feeling and sensation. I would highly recommend a second opinion. There is a bigger risk of losing your nipples if they are removed. I'm not a plastic surgeon but I just know I looked the same way and had no problem keeping my nipples attached with an anchor lift and i lost a lot of tissue. I had 400 cc but went back a year later and had 700 cc put in because the 400 were to small. If you have any questions feel free to ask. I'm 8 days post op from my second lift.

I need a lift and thinking of going to Dominican Republic because it is so much more affordable but after reading this comment, maybe I should stay in the states...at least for the beasts. Not that every surgeon in the us is good or every surgeon in the DR is not

No problem, you're welcome. I love how honest everyone is and it actually makes me feel better about my decision reading all of the ladies reviews.

Do you have a review in progress?
February 26, 2017
Yes. I need to post pics. I'm scheduled for March 17 in Okc. I'm searching because my dr will only go up to 305cc moderate plus. He says my breast tissue/skin is thin. I'm scared I'll be too small...

For me personally I hope to keep my hourglass figure but if I need to keep the implant small to prevent more sagging, I'm totally willing to do that. Anything is better than these danglers! Except the dreaded removed nipple. I don't want that.

55, I would go with the dr's recommendation for size if he thinks the skin tissue wouldn't support larger implants. Just my opinion though. I like full breasts but I'm in the same boat as you with the skin tissue being too thin therefore lacking the elasticity where larger breasts are concerned.
Personally I just want to be able to wear a swimsuit and not having to wear another bra underneath for support. Lol

I was wearing a 34 d but wasn't really filling the cup all the way. Probably more like a 36 c. I think I am still now a large c. I can't wait to be ready to buy a real bra!

Congrats on your TT! Depending on how much skin you have to lose, your breast size doesn't change too much after just the lift

Second Opinions

User Avatar

Today I'm trying to touch base with my PS and a few others to discuss the need for a Free Nipple graft (do NOT want to do) and for second opinions. I reached my second choice PS and they charge $100 for a consult! Holy cow! Is this a normal practice? On the one hand, that's pretty pricey, on the other hand, his before and after are gorgeous and the $100 is applied to the procedure. I think I will discuss with my current doc, and then based on his answers and confidence, I might be willing to bite the bullet and go with a doc that thinks his services are so great, he's going to charge just to speak with me. Any thoughts?

if they turn out badly from the first doc you'll have wished every day of your life that you had paid that one hundred dollars to get a second opinion to begin with.

Pay the $100 and see what they say. In the scheme of things, one-hundred dollars is a drop in the bucket! You're worth it ..

Second doctor

Had my second consultation with a new PS today. There are a lot of pros to this guy, but also some cons that I need to reconcile with. First up, he wants me to keep my nipples intact *big sigh of relief*. The flip side is that he wants to do this in two separate phases- lift, then three months later, add an implant. Due to the sheer amount of skin he's going to remove and the fact of my significant weight loss. I am pleased that he seems to be confident but cautious at the same time. Another downside of this is that it's going to cost me a couple grand more due there being more than one procedure. And want to hear something crazy? I could have my lift as soon as next Thursday. That's less than a week from now people! I want to get the ball rolling, especially now that this is going to be a two parter. I feel so much better now that I will get the results I need, just need to wrap my brain around all these other new details. Now I just need to call the doc that wanted to back off my nipples for no reason and cancel my other surgery that was scheduled for the 22nd of March.

I have a friend that had to do hers in two steps for the same reason. Better to be safe than be a horror story. Good luck!
