Hi everyone. Thank you for all the updates. You've answered questions before I had them--GREAT information!! I am 49-almost 50, 5'8", 230 lbs and currently a 38K--somtimes I think I need a L. I've had huge saggy breast from day one. Neck/shoulder/upper back & headaches are part of everyday life. I always just 'sucked' up the pain and used OTC pain meds when denied insurance coverage in the past, but this time I faught for what I needed and was fianlly approved. Surgery is Nov 7th. My doc said he doesn't use drains and likes to keep patients for the night after surgery. He estimates removing 830 - 1000 grams per side. I wanted to loose weight before surgery. However, the insurance company requires at least 830 grams removed from each breast. I don't want to risk not meeting the 830 mark from the smaller breast, so I'll wait until after surgery before loosing weight. Pre-op appointment is Oct 23rd. Surgery cost is estimated over $10,000.00. My insurance annual out of pocket amount (including deductible)"..for a single person/plan is $2,750.00. I've paid out $1,895.00 and have approx $1000.00 in my HSA. Things are looking good in the finance end. I'll add pics later.

Three weeks to go. Finally took before pics--felt very strange taking pics of my self half naked!! : )) Started the ball rolling for my two week leave at work through HR and the disability insurance company. Went a lot smoother than I thought. I have enough sick leave to cover the two weeks, but needed to file for disability "just in case" and to keep HR happy. Pre op appntmnt is next Tuesday. Thanks to all the postings I don't have many--if any, questions to ask the doc. Thank you to everyone again!!!

My PS has been in my area for more than 15 years. I work with many, many women, so if there was anything "not good" about him I would have heard. :~)) I am totally comfortable with my doctor. The receptionist and nurses are very helpful with any and all questions.
