53 Years Old, Slender but with Tummy - New York

I've always been active and slender (5'7", 124#), but had put on an innertube of flab around my middle after menopause. I'd have been sort of ok with that, but my work clothes didn't fit anymore. Even more disconcerting - I could feel the fat shaking when I walked. I decided to give Coolscuplting a try. I had four applications - one on each flank, and two small ones on the front of my lower abdomen. Don't let anyone tell you that it is painless. The flanks were manageable (at first it felt like a mammogram machine, then went numb after about 10 minutes), but the belly was not. I literally started to faint from the pain about 5 minutes after they put on the first applicator. They had to stop the treatment, give me pain meds, wait and start again. Anyway, after everything was done, the pain was over (for then...). I went back to work, worked out the next day, all good. I had bruising on my flanks (see photos) and some soreness, but I didn't even need an ibuprofen. About 5 days in, the bruising was almost gone, but a "crampy" feeling started. It was very similar to bad menstrual cramps, except they lasted for about a week, and were constant. Ibuprofen didn't help, and it was sometimes difficult to sleep. But I could still work out and carry on my daily activities - I was just annoyed. After that, no pain....So all that said, would I do it again? Yes, absolutely. My clothes fit again, and I no longer feel fat jiggling on my sides when I walk. The photos below are from the day after the procedure, a couple of weeks in, and 4 weeks later. Am hoping that the results will be even more pronounced at the 3-month mark. Will update.

Good info. Especially in regard to the pain, my doctor insists that there is no pain.

I had my CS done on April 1,2016. I had three areas on my abdomen. I had the large one done on my middle stomach and the pain was excruciating!! I literally thought I was going to pass out, but I got thru it. It's been 10 days 10 and my stomach has already gone down a lot, so happy!! The pain is actually going away I do have intense itching but I am constantly putting ice packs on it which it definitely helps .

I'd heard the pain afterwards can be intolerable and people are prescribed a drug that's used to treat neuropathy.

I think that the experience is different for different patients. For me, it wasn't intolerable, just very uncomfortable and long-lasting. I just wish that they had given me a heads-up so that I knew to expect that. It's not a bikini wax - there is more trauma than a routine spa procedure.

Thank you for sharing at 51 experience a lot of the same problems. So glad to hear any pain in worth the outcome. Still has to be more comfortable than lipo

Yes, it's probably much easier than lipo! I went straight back to work after the procedure and could work out the next day. After about 10-12 days, the pain was totally gone. For me, the pain wouldn't keep me from doing it again. I just want to share my experience that it is definitely a "procedure," and not just a simple spa treatment...

omg now im SUPER nervous! im getting my lower abdomen done this friday. Reading the reviews i read its definately semi painful, but you almost fainted from the pain? im terrified now LOL

Once they gave me a couple of pain pills, it was bearable. I really think that it's an individual thing - some people apparently have much less pain. And I thought it was worth it - I'd do it again! :-)
