I'm 25 and ever since I was 15 I have hated my double chin (submental fullness). I naturally have a round face which I dont mind, but combined with the little pouch of fat under my chin it makes me look much larger than I am. I live an active lifestyle and exercise 4-5 days a week and have always been skinny (5'6", 120lbs) when people see photos of just my face you would think I'm larger than I am. I've done consultations for liposuction but with my career its very hard for me to take a week off to recover or go to work with a giant compression wrap on so I've always put it off. I've had multiple coworkers see Dr. Roberts and have work done by her with wonderful results so when I heard she did Kybella treatments I went in for my consultation.

Fast forward to the day of the procedure -- I was very well aware of everything that would go on during my healing process with reading other reviews from RealSelf and from what Dr. Roberts told me. I was extremely nervous for this "bullfrog phase" you go through, but I was determined to do whatever it takes to get rid of this insecurity of mine.

Dr. Roberts has a few offices in the area, however I chose to do the procedure in her home office (where I had our initial consult in), some people think of home office and immediately shy away but I honestly preferred the more relaxed setting. Her house is very charming and the room she does her procedures in is clean. Her son answered the door and guided my coworker and I to her waiting area, which I found adorable because he's very young and was really well mannered. She then came down to greet us and prepare for the procedure.

She took a white pen and marked areas on me, outlining my jawline, where my throat was, amoungst other things as her guidelines, she then put a template on me which is covered in dots, the dots determine how many injections you need to receive depending on how large your fat pad is. I received 17 injections which is a little under 2 viles at $600 each. The injections themselves did not hurt at all really, she was very gentle and careful not to be too aggressive which resulted and me having virtually no bruising at all. I will tell you it was the WEIRDEST feeling when I felt the acid in the area of the injections, almost like melted warm plastic that started to harden inside me. The procedure was over in 15 minutes, she then wrapped me up in a compression garment and away I went. My procedure was at night and I had work the next day, I slept with three pillows to keep myself upright to reduce swelling, that morning I woke up and was definitely extremely swollen but I was in no pain or discomfort at all to my surprise (reading so many other reviews stating otherwise)
Everyone at work knew I was getting the procedure done and they were completely surprised that I wasn't in pain or quite as swollen as everyone imagined, don't get me wrong I definitely looked like a bullfrog but it was manageable and wasn't completely horrendous.

I'm now on day 2, swellings about the same, I went to the gym this morning and wore a hoodie to distract from my frog like appearance but like I said.. I seem to be the only one to notice. The area of injection is numb but that's normal, otherwise I don't feel any different there besides the swelling and numbness. Not hard to swallow or overly tender.

I'll try to keep updates as to how everything goes and post photos. I don't have a good before photo as I never took pictures but Dr. Roberts did so I'll try to get them.
