Horrible!
I came for some very small smokers lines that where starting to irritate me especially because one line felt in a scar i had. Only the scar was visible at every sort of light. I thought microneedling was safe. Practioner also sad no side effects no risk for scarring. I even gave her a 5 star review and still don't know if i have to change it. I Will first be going to a dematologist to know what happend to my face for sure..
But this happend:
So i went and she did my under eyes because i had dark circles and my upper lip area also the smile lines because she was already in that area. She put retinol on it directly after the treatment. I only heard of vitamine c not being good but i was kind of hasitating when she said that.. anyways i ended up believing what she said because she was very convincing. Looking back i never would have done it...
The Trouble already started the first Day i was experiencing pain and irritation on my eyes from the retionol oil. I Stayed away from my face as the practioner had told me . Got the oil out of my eye with a ear stick(? Sorry i am dutch)
I wanted to take care for my skin as much as i could so the first Days i even sat in de dark because i had no mineral sunscreen yet. (She didn't even put i on when i went home!)
The parts that where microneedled on my face felt soo dry like it was rippin. When i finally went outside i also experienced wind burn. I never used retinol before so i don't know if that also caused the problems. I Read every where that it can.
For about a week i only cleansed my face with water drink collageen supplements (before and after too) and used shea butter aloë Vera and sunscreen as moisturiser . I was red and flakky until day 5-6 .
Now i have a very deep smile wrinkle. That i never had . My under eyes have loser skin and are even darker. My smokers lines are all more visible now even when nog smoking. I don't know if it's ever going to be solved.i went to the dokter cause it still feels dry and i am using vaseline now but it hasnt changed a bit. I am worried i have damaged my skin . It had been approxemently 8 weeks now and i feel terrible. Keept hoping until week 6 but it started to become worse week by week. On Christmas i really noticed it and IT never returned to normal. I feel like it's less elastic then it was or i lost fat or scar tissue i don't know yet. Even my smile is not what it used to be. I look ten years older. My skin texture is rough on some places.
I spoke to the practioner about it and she only blames my wound healing aging and smoking and that IT might work from 6 weeks to 5 months than longer because i smoke and then to two years -_-* she can't even keep her story straight. It is not the retinol and she didn't responded when i send het photos and sites that mention excacly what i say. I can go to her for a skin analyse but that was already free and i kind of don't want her to touch my skin again ..
I am going to the dermatologist and then i Will Deside what i do. I really hope this what i see is only temporary but it's been a long time already.. :(
Also want to mention that i had surgery a year ago where i had to stop smoking . I didn't everything went fine . After 5 Days i was able to everything while the downtime for it was 6 weeks. So no problem wound healing here..
And i had dry skin on my upper lip before she started but she said it didn't matter.
I Will add photos from the Summer. (First one) than scope close-up from the lines i had and my laughing the Day before very good close up and than right after and a couple Days later when i started peeling and than now.
What not is microneedled still looks the same the rest looks old :(
