Hi beauties. I'm 42 married 3 years with a 23 year old son and a 16 year old bonus daughter. My husband is a good guy but he does NOT want me to have surgery. I'm trying to explain to him my feelings for wanting to do so. He says I'm being selfish. I've already paid my deposit and there's no turning back but I don't want him to be mad either. Did anyone else have this issue with your family or signifact other? If so how did you handle it?

I agree. This is your decision. Your body. I a have been a RS stalker for years and am finally becoming a RS Alvarez Queen, not doll! We women deserve to feel confident and more beautified regardless of what anyone else thinks! Good Luck and happy journey to YOU!

This is a procedure I want to have done sometime after my tubes are tied. My husband did not like the idea at all when I first mentioned it. I've talked to him about it a lot, I space the conversations out by a few weeks. He is somewhat okay with it now. I pretty much explain to him all the time that how I feel about my body is not in any way his fault or a result of his actions. His issue with it was that he was feeling that it was his fault for not getting me to love my body more, but he is starting to understand that it is just my and how I feel about it. It wont happen over night, but don't let it become a taboo. He loves you and he will come around. Also, I'm excited to watch your progress. Best of luck!

Hey girly let me tell you something!! You do what is right for God and you. Hubby is tripping bcuz he knows what type of attention you will get, and he must be insecure with himself. I am 38 yrs old with a 20 yr old son, 15 yr old daughter, and a bonus baby girl 9 mths old. We deserve to get our snatched back so. And guess what he may get mad but o well, bcuz after you heal he gonna reap benefits also.

Yes I kind of had the same issue I'm 49 with four children my oldest being 32 if it was something I have been wanting to do actually I've done it my surgery was just September 19th and I'm very pleased but the way I handled it I did not tell no one in my family not my brother's not my sister's only ones new with my husband and my children they gave me the support but my family seem to when I talk to them about it before was being very discouraging telling me not to do it so after I made my down payment from that point on I gave you never spoke about it no more so that way I wouldn't have stress on my mind

husband does NOT want me to have my tumny tuck!!
How can I get headed to see that it is something that I want for myself without sounding selfish? I don't think it's selfish at all but he's more focused on the risks than the benefits. I miss my old body... I'm currently working out so I hope to lose atleast 30 pds before my procedure. I just don't want this to cause a problem in my marriage. He knows I'm very self-conscious about my body. Can anyone else relate and what did you do?

You're not being selfish at all and you should do this for yourself. This is a very common procedure. Yes there's risk associated with all sx. However, as long as you are medically cleared and you go to a board certified surgeon you'll be fine. Maybe your husband just needs to be more informed on the procedure and how common it is. Has he had an opportunity to talk to Dr. Alvarez, or a surgeon about the sx? Maybe that would make him feel more at ease. As far as the weight, girl you can do it, you have plenty of time!!! Well beauties. I joined the gym and I am hard at it. My goal is to get down to atleast 170 prior to my surgery date which is April 27th. My husband is still hating the concept but I feel like I have to do this for me. Weight currently is 205 I have to be down to 195 for surgery. I can do this!!!!

Do it for you! Not for him your body not his. I think he's scared that's all. My bf never wanted me to get implants and now he touch them all the time.

You got this! My surgery is 5 weeks away. My husband is very supportive however. I told him that I want the old me back. No more kids for us and he has agreed to help me pay for it. :0) I was at 192lbs and now at 186. Want to be at 175 before surgery. I have a couple of friends that have had TT and they say it is sooo worth it. So, let hubby know that this is finally something for you! From what I hear - he will also love the results! :0)

I hope so! So far I've lost 4 pounds. I feel better. My aunt is having it done too! So I will have a partner! Maybe my husband will come around
Welcome to the community. You are not selfish and deserve to do this for yourself. Be proud and keep moving forward to the better you. He will come around when he realizes how happy you are after surgery. They struggle with things they don't understand. Educate him on the process and include him and he will be fine.
