Adding the Finishing Touches...(TT W/ Lipo of Flanks and Bra Roll)
ORIGINAL POST
Let me start off by saying, I'm not really big on...
Let me start off by saying, I'm not really big on pictures, the best with technology, and slow to follow-up sometimes. I'm actually a VERY private person. I was reluctant to start a post because I wasn't sure if, or how much of, my experience I was willing to share. So my encounter/review may not meet up to the expectations of some in this group.
I've pretty much had an athletic body type all my life. During pregnancy, I gained about 65+ pounds. I was able to lose most of the weight. But to be honest, I wasn't trying to lose all of the weight. I had lost a lot of weight previously, but didn't like the look. I like the new shape of my body with a little extra weight. It gives me a curvy athletic look. The problem is my mid-section. My abdomen is holding on to that stubborn fat and has loose skin. The way my abdomen expanded during pregnancy was into that of a B shape, which may be to prior issues. But anyway, it makes weight loss a pain. As I lose weight, it creates a stacked pancake look and makes my navel look non-existent.
I started considering a tummy tuck around December of last year (2016), but decided against it. Then I re-visited the idea again in May. It was around that time that I realized I liked the extra weight on my body, and didn't want to lose anymore. But, I didn't like the look of my abdomen. And from prior experience, I knew losing more weight wouldn't correct the issue.
So, I began researching the procedure, and potential physicians. I had four (3 local & 1 non-local) consultations before deciding on a physician. In July, I chose Dr. Moises Salama with Elite Plastic Surgery as my final decision. He's double board certified (plastic surgery & surgery), has his own state approved surgery center, recovery house, and is highly revered. I also liked the pics from the results of his clients. At the time, he had a special for a tummy tuck with liposuction of the flanks. So, I decided to go with that. Then after reading a few post, I decided to add liposuction to the bra roll.
I did a virtual consultation, then spoke to one his patient coordinators named Cynthia. God bless her. When it comes to certain things, I am very detailed oriented and have to know the ins and outs. I asked her sooo many questions on that call, and she answered all of them. Not once did she have an attitude or seem unwilling to help. She even advised me to call her whenever I had any questions/concerns, or if I was just anxious and needed to talk. Cynthia made me feel at ease, although I was nervous. I took the first available appointment they had, which was in September.
Since it was the end of July, I had to quickly get my pre-op work done and start figuring out everything else surrounding my surgery. I decided to go down by myself and stay at the recovery house. I didn't want to put a burden on anyone, who would more than likely be helping me when I return. Plus, I figured the people at the recovery house take care of people in my soon to be situation on the regular. So, why not have somebody taking care of me who is familiar with what I'm going through and trained to handle it. Although I've made my deposit for the recovery house. I haven't heard anything from anyone yet to discuss the details (i.e. things to know, airport transport, etc.) I hope I've made the right decision. I have read a few horror stories about other recovery houses.
So far, overall, I am happy with the team at EPS. I just have to get use to the "no news is good news" practice. I'm sooo worried about getting down there and stuff going wrong because something fell through the cracks. So, I'm constantly calling for updates. Since, I'm out of town, I would feel more at ease to receive follow-ups via email or phone. My doctor followed up with me to let me know that my test looked good and she was sending a medical clearance letter for me. So, I called EPS to make sure they received my medical clearance. They hadn't received it yet. So, I asked if I would get a call when they do. The staff member said "no, not unless something is wrong." This is not going to help my paranoia. Lol!

Congrats on your decision! I pray you have safe journey and smooth recovery. Please keep us updated, I have my surgery in October and am also staying at the RH and would like to know how that went as well.
Congrats on going through, I as well love my body shape with some weight on it. Otherwise I would have chicken legs flat butt. So I as well have the stubborn fat on abdomen. Please keep us posted. And thank you for sharing!
A great well Tremendously Fabulous RH I've been to is called A'nesi Harbor! She is wonderful!
